Cryptic Biden remark raises eyebrows: ‘Is that a veiled threat?’

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is the one Republican who stands in the way of the massive Ukraine aid bill and a cryptic remark by President Joe Biden appeared to some to have ominous overtones.

On Tuesday, the Senate moved to pass the $95 billion foreign aid package having dropped all pretenses that it was a “border” bill, sending it to the House where Johnson has indicated that it has little chance of getting a vote, making him a man with a target on his back.

Which is what makes Biden’s remarks all the more curious. In wrapping up a news conference attacking Trump and Republicans and demanding that GOP House lawmakers fall in line, the 81-year-old Democrat said, “May God protect our Speaker,” words which were peculiar considering the nature of his spiel.

He then promised to return to answer questions later on before shuffling off, leaving some to wonder whether his strange reference to Johnson and the Almighty was just another gaffe from the senile leader or something more menacing.

“For Republicans in Congress who think they can oppose funding for Ukraine and not be held accountable, history is watching. Failure to support Ukraine will never be forgotten.” Biden ranted earlier after showing up an hour late to address the Senate’s passage of the bill, his top priority.

While some X users mocked Biden’s exit without taking questions on a matter of such great importance to him and the uniparty establishment, others speculated that it was a dark message to Johnson, who stands at the cusp of becoming the most hated man in all of Washington, D.C. as well as in Brussels and Kyiv.

Biden later took to X to call for Johnson to give the bill a vote without the implied threat.

“There is no question that if our bipartisan national security bill was put to a vote in the House it would pass. The Speaker knows it,” the Ukraine first leader wrote. “I call on him to let the full House speak its mind – not allow a minority of extreme voices to block this bill from even being voted on.”

“You know, our adversaries have long sought to create cracks in the Alliance. The greatest hope of all those who wish America harm is for NATO to fall apart. And you can be sure that they all cheered when they heard Donald Trump — when they heard what he said,” Biden also said.

“I know this: I will not walk away. I can’t imagine any other president walking away. For as long as I’m president, if Putin attacks a NATO Ally, the United States will defend every inch of NATO territory,” he vowed, putting the nation on a path to war with a thermonuclear power, just like Trump said he would.

If it was a veiled threat, it wouldn’t be the first time that Biden has sounded like a mob boss.
