‘Spider-Man’ good Samaritan leaps onto roof to save toddler who wandered out a window

A Rhode Island man is being referred to as a hero, an angel, and even Spider-Man after he leaped into action to save a 2-year-old child he saw walking on a roof.

The toddler climbed out of a window that her mother left open because it was hot in their apartment, according to police. The man wished to remain anonymous.

“I just kept thinking, ‘Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. The baby’s going to fall,'” onlooker Michelle Higgins told WJAR.

“The baby was really coming to the edge and going back, and you could see that the window was open,” she added. “And the gentleman in the street was trying to tell the baby, ‘Go back, go back, go back.’ I don’t know how he got up the side of the building. My son keeps saying he has to be Spider-Man.”

“Crazy, what if he hadn’t been there? You know, we don’t think about stuff happening like this, but it happens all the time,” one neighbor said.

For others, the good Samaritan was nothing short of an angel watching out for the child’s wellbeing.
