Embattled Dem mayor takes a break from bashing critics to post video with Biden

Embattled Democrat Mayor Tiffany Henyard shared a video of herself with President Joe Biden days after she blasted her critics in a racially-charged rant.

Henyard, whose lavish spending habits as the first black female mayor of Dolton, Illinois, a small village near Chicago, took a break from giving detractors a tongue lashing for “attacking a black woman” by posting the footage of an event with Biden to Instagram.

“You’re gonna hurt a lot of people’s feelings, and not even because you trying to be malicious, but every time they look up, they’re gonna see you winning, they’re gonna hate it,” says the narration on the clip, a man’s voice belonging to a popular social media influencer.

“Stay Positive Stay focused Stay the course” with the hashtags “#IStandWithTiff #growth #loveforcommunity #leadership,” read the caption below the video.

Mayor Henyard made headlines after an investigation by Chicago news outlet WGN that reviewed credit card records revealed that the humble public servant who earns around $300,000 a year has been living in high style despite the average $24,000 income of Dolton residents.

Henyard and her allies have splurged on trips to Austin, Atlanta, New York City, and Portland, racking up big hotel bills and dining at pricey eateries, with social media users slamming her for “living like a royal.”

“In Atlanta, the group stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel and brought home a bill of $9,347. In New York, they stayed at the Mariott Marquis in Times Square where the hotel charged the group $13,098. Airline records show everyone in the group frequently flies first class,” the outlet reported.

“She likes the good stuff,” said Henyard’s former chief of staff Nakita Cloud, according to WGN.

“Cloud said Henyard would regularly invite her aides and supporters to nice restaurants to dine at taxpayer expense despite not discussing government business. Tax dollars and resources are used to fuel Henyard’s prolific social media channels,” WGN reported.

“I don’t think she’s fit to be mayor. I think she wants to be a reality television star,” said the former chief of staff.

Henyard lost her cool during a Monday meeting that was live-streamed, shouting at her colleagues and suggesting that she is above reproach because she’s black.

“Y’all got false narratives out there, and y’all should be ashamed of y’all selves. Y’all Black. Y’all are Black! And y’all sitting up here beating and attacking on a Black woman that’s in power. Y’all should be ashamed of y’all selves,” she said with the remarks going viral on social media.

It isn’t clear when the video of the event with Biden was recorded but it seems to be a not-so-subtle message to her critics that she has friends in high places.
