Amid reports of a White House official acknowledging that President Joe Biden is “definitely slowing down,” the 81-year-old geriatric president suffered yet another highly uncomfortable “senior moment” over the weekend while campaigning in Las Vegas.
While commenting on a Group of 7 (G7) meeting he attended after being elected president in 2020, Biden appeared to mix up French President Emmanuel Macron with Francois Mitterrand, the former president of France who died in 1996.
Biden claimed that he announced that “America is back” during the meeting, adding that his declaration drew a response from “Mitterrand from Germany,” before correcting it to “from France.”
“And Mitterand from Germany — I mean, from France — looked at me and said…’You know, what… why… how long you back for?” the president said. “And I looked at him and…the Chancellor of Germany said, ‘What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the paper tomorrow in the London Times, and London Times said, ‘A thousand people break through the House of Commons, break down the doors, two Bobbies are killed in order to stop the election of the Prime Minister.’ What would you say?’”

When the White House posted the transcripts of Biden’s remarks, the name Mitterand was crossed out and replaced with Macron.
If Biden is reelected in November, he would be 87 at the end of his second term.
Interestingly, Biden’s likely opponent, former President Donald Trump, who is 77, had a senior moment of his own last month when he appeared to confuse challenger Nikki Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) while talking about Jan. 6.
After his latest gaffe, social media users were quick to suggest that a vote for Biden is actually a vote for Kamala Harris as president because there’s no way Biden will last another four years.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Four more years …

Sundowning is a horrifying experience, someone needs to step up and bring this horrific abuse of a critically ill elder to an end.
