Pastor murdered by neighbor in his driveway over HOA complaint caught on video by his kids in car

The 12- and 15-year-old children of a North Las Vegas pastor recorded the final moments of their father’s life, a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the pastor’s next-door neighbor reveals.

Joe Junio has been charged with murder, attempted murder, and child abuse after she allegedly shot Grace Point Church pastor Nick Davi, 46, over a homeowner’s association dispute involving chickens and dogs. The Davi family was in the car when Junio fired first at Nick, then at his wife, Sarah Davi, inside a gated townhome community on December 29, 2023, according to FOX5.

Nick was killed, while Sarah survived.

She has filed a 13-page wrongful death suit against Junio, seeking an unspecified amount. According to the filing, Junio borrowed the gun she used from someone else and did not have a license or permit to carry a firearm.

“Your mind just can’t process that,” fellow Grace Point pastor Ty Neal told FOX5.

Neal said the Davi family was terrorized for weeks by Junio and had even left their home to stay elsewhere because of the dispute. He lives close to the grieving family and said he heard the gunshots that killed his colleague.

“I heard some pops,” he said.

According to court documents, Junio confronted the Davi family in front of their home over complaints Davi made about her to the HOA. The HOA, which is not named in the lawsuit, informed Junio of the complaints.

“The homeowner’s association knew or should have known that Defendant would likely perform violent actions against deceased and Plaintiff as a result of on-going association dispute,” the lawsuit states.

Junio had exhibited “escalating threatening behavior” in the weeks leading up to the shooting, according to a police report reviewed by 8NewsNow.

“On the day of the shooting, the family was getting into their car to leave for the evening when they saw Junio drive past and look at them,” the outlet reports. “Junio then parked next to them and rolled down her window.”

That’s when one of the children hit record on her phone.

“Why don’t you leave us alone?” one of the victims asked Junio “We’ve had enough.”

“What’s your problem with us?” the pastor reportedly asked as he stepped closer to Junio’s car.

According to police, Junio got out of her car and opened fire on the family, hitting Nick and Sarah.

“One of the victims fought over the gun with Junio before she ran away to her apartment,” 8NewsNow reports.

“The lawsuit lists wrongful death, among other causes of action, and asks a jury to award damages above $15,000, which is the standard minimum in Nevada civil lawsuits,” according to the outlet. “Junio remained in custody at the Clark County Detention Center as of Tuesday on $300,000 bail.”

“Nick Davi was shot and killed at his home on December 29, 2023,” Michael Davi wrote on GoFundMe. “Nick was a father of two children and loving husband who was a pastor at Grace Point Church in North Las Vegas. At the age of 46, Nick maintained close friendships with his Riverhead High School and Tampa University friends. He touched the lives of countless people in his short time with us. We are all shocked and saddened by this senseless tragedy.”

“We are raising funds to support his surviving family,” Michael said.

So far, nearly $90,000 of the $100,000 goal has been raised.
