Fellow governors agree TX has right to ‘self defense’ against invasion, defiant Abbott blasts ‘lawless’ Biden

Texas Governor Greg Abbott doubled down on protecting his state’s border despite a blow from the Supreme Court, blasting President Joe Biden’s “lawless” border policies in a blistering statement.

Following the high court’s 5-4 ruling in favor of the regime that allowed federal agents to remove the concertina wire installed by the state as a preventative measure against the illegal alien invasion the governor was defiant, vowing that the razor wire will continue to be deployed.

On Wednesday, the Lone Star State Republican took to the X platform previously known as Twitter with what amounted to a middle finger to the authoritarian in the White House.

The governor also released his statement in which he accused the federal government of breaking the compact between the United States and the States and stated that Texas has a right to “self-defense” against the “invasion” that has been enabled by Biden.

“The federal government has broken the compact between the United States and the States,” the governor said. “The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting states, including immigration laws on the books right now. President Biden has refused to enforce those laws and has even violated them.”

“Under President Biden’s lawless border policies, more than 6 million illegal immigrants have crossed our southern border in just 3 years. That is more than the population of 33 different States in this country. This illegal refusal to protect the States has inflicted unprecedented harm on the People all across the United States,” the statement read.

Abbott cites the Framers of the U.S. Constitution who “foresaw that States should not be left to the mercy of a lawless president who does nothing to stop external threats like cartels smuggling millions of illegal immigrants across the border,” noting language “which promises that the federal government ‘shall protect each [State] against invasion” and “acknowledges ‘the States’ sovereign interest in protecting their borders.’”

“The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I,§ 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself,” he wrote.

“That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary. The Texas National Guard, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and other Texas personnel are acting on that authority, as well as state law, to secure the Texas border,” Abbott concluded.

Support for Abbott’s throwing down with Biden poured in, including from his fellow GOP governors.

Abbott’s defiance puts Biden in a position where he will have to respond forcefully, perhaps so much so that Americans will see who the real dictator is and it’s not Trump.
