Turns out, the statue of William Penn, who founded the state of Pennsylvania, isn’t going anywhere — at least for now.
In furtherance of the ongoing cultural cleansing of the nation’s identity, the Biden administration had its sights set on canceling the historic figure as part of the “rehabilitation” of Welcome Park to make the site a more “welcoming, accurate, and inclusive experience.”
But in a rare case of Democrats standing up to the administration, Gov. Josh Shapiro yielded to the public outcry over the decision and pushed back.
“My team has been in contact with the Biden Administration throughout the day to correct this decision. I’m pleased Welcome Park will remain the rightful home of this William Penn statue — right here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Penn founded,” the Democratic governor tweeted.

Shapiro linked to an announcement from the National Park Service, which falls under Interior Secretary Deb Haaland.
“Independence National Historical Park has withdrawn the review of a draft proposal to rehabilitate Welcome Park and closed the public comment period,” the statement said. “The preliminary draft proposal, which was released prematurely and had not been subject to a complete internal agency review, is being retracted. No changes to the William Penn statue are planned.”
In the event you don’t recall Secretary Haaland, here she is celebrating LGBT History Month with a biological male posing as a woman, in her own words helping to “tell our country’s full and honest story.”

The backtrack on the Penn statue caught the attention of Billionaire Elon Musk, as well as others. Here’s a sampling of responses to the story as seen on Muck’s social media platform X:

Great job, thank you! Yes it is an issue for Pennsylvania but that means it’s an issue for all Americans ❤️

“To correct this decision” @GovernorShapiro, the only reason why this decision was stopped is because the public got wind of it and became rightfully outraged.
If the public did not speak up, William Penn’s statue would’ve been cancelled just as Jefferson & Washington have

Your surrender is accepted.
Never try anything like this ever again.— HoR_Emperor (@HorEmperor) January 8, 2024
Public backlash to leaked plans is a helluva thing.

Now ask yourself why this decision was made to begin with, and what led to it. Toxic ideology within your party.

The fact that you even had to do this is representative of the lunacy emanating from the Biden Administration.
