Biden never bothers to justify his open border policy

The Biden administration is getting away with an unprecedented outrage against our nation and its citizens. Massive illegal immigration, which poses an existential threat to the U.S., is being enabled by our government and no one seems capable of putting an end to it. “President Biden has dissolved the southern border,” said Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana. “Our problems at the southern border are man-made, and that man’s name is Joe Biden.”

“Biden’s open borders are by design,” said Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, at The Hill. “He came into office, signed executive orders and dismantled the immigration system the Trump administration built. The magnitude of this crisis simply cannot be overstated. The floodgates are wide open, and migrants surging to our border know that more likely than not, if they cross over they have a real shot at staying in the United States. At the same time, the Biden administration has cut down on prosecuting illegal immigrants by nearly 80 percent. This all but invites more to come.”

“Right now,” according to the Senate Republican Conference (as reported in Politico), “the Biden administration is actively eliminating almost every tool America has to secure our southern border in the face of the worst border crisis in U.S. history.”

This question went out to a group of my friends: “What are the reasons Biden is giving to the public to justify the surge of illegals at the southern border?” No one gave me a straight answer. Why should they when Biden refuses to give a reason?

Most Americans seem to agree that allowing millions of unvetted illegals to pour across the southern border is terrible for our country. The open border policy has the potential to destroy the U.S. economy. Disruption in local communities is already proving to be catastrophic. The social costs of deadly drugs, violent criminals, terrorists, and COVID spreaders constitute the worst public safety issue since World War II.

“Biden’s border policies are empowering drug cartels to turn human smuggling into a multi-billion-dollar industry,” says heritage.org. “Those policies allow fentanyl to pour into our country, leading to the No. 1 cause of death among young Americans. Those policies leave Americans more vulnerable to terrorist attacks and infiltration from foreign enemies, including the Chinese Communist Party.”

With no apparent regard either for public sentiment or for the facts, Biden continues to enable the tidal wave. No one with any power is challenging him and no one knows for sure how he justifies his policy. The hidden reason—the one that Biden refuses to acknowledge—is the Democrat Party’s intention to flood the U.S. with millions of new voters on the assumption that most of them will vote for Democrats.

“What is the Biden administration’s official policy and endgame on the border and immigration?” asked Chuck Devore at Texas Public Policy Foundation. “Simply put: overwhelm America with millions of illegal immigrants and force Republicans to the table to agree to grant citizenship to millions of people here illegally while promising to secure the border. Of course, Biden won’t admit that. Instead, we’re left to figure out his policy objectives on our own. Other than repeating the risible lie that ‘the border is secure’ the Biden White House has articulated no coherent immigration or border security policy.”

What are the reasons cited in the media in support of Biden’s open border? The “bleeding heart” liberal position on immigration is that ANYONE who wants to come to the U.S. should be allowed to do so. In other words, the Left believes we have an obligation—based on “compassion”—to admit non-citizens who are suffering in “sh*thole” countries. Who are we kidding? Most of the world is made up of sh*thole countries. The residents of those countries would be crazy not to want to live in the U.S. But with open borders, it will be impossible to accommodate the resulting tidal wave of immigrants.

A second argument in favor of unrestricted immigration is that we are a country of immigrants. While that is true, the current situation is very different from anything we have faced in the past. Historically, immigrants did not arrive on our shores with the intention of destroying our values and our civilization. On the contrary, they wanted to become Americanized. They wanted to speak English and to “fit in.” They wanted their children to be Americans. None of this seems to apply to the current crop of immigrants. Instead of assimilating and adopting American values as past immigrants did, today’s immigrants want to impose their values on us. As they entertain a ravenous appetite for the benefits we are forced to provide at taxpayer expense, they want us to assimilate.

Instead of benefiting from Europe’s experience, America is ignoring the lesson that uncontrolled immigration of people who refuse to assimilate can be suicidal to the host country. We can’t assimilate the 10-20 million or more that have already smuggled themselves into the country. Try to imagine what would happen if we take in another 20 million. We cannot afford to admit everyone who wants to come, nor is our government under any legal or moral obligation to satisfy the desires of the entire planet. The U.S. already has more immigrants than any other country in the world. According to pewresearch.org, more than 44 million people living in the U.S. were born in another country, accounting for about one-fifth of the world’s migrants.

Donald Trump had the border under control. Trump’s policy forced migrants to remain in Mexico while awaiting their immigration proceedings in the U.S. Reversing that policy and opening the border is an act of treason. Article III of the U.S. Constitution states: “Treason against the United States shall consist . . . in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.” By supporting sanctuary jurisdictions, refusing to pay for the wall, and allowing the border to remain open, Biden is giving aid and comfort to aliens who show contempt for our laws and sovereignty and who, by definition, are enemies of the United States.

How will you cope when Biden sends a few thousand unskilled, functional illiterates—and the surge in crime and disease that comes with them—to your town? We don’t even know who the people are in the Biden administration who are making the new immigration rules. If voters fail to expose them and challenge their policies, unaccountable government bureaucrats will transform America into an authoritarian socialist nation right before our eyes.
