Former President Donald Trump predicted on the day after Christmas that GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will endorse him one day soon — just not today.
Trump offered up the prediction in response to a report that Ramaswamy’s campaign has stopped spending money on TV campaign ads.
“He will, I am sure, Endorse me. But Vivek is a good man, and is not done yet!” the former president wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Filed by NBC News, the report noted that Ramaswamy “has stopped spending money on television ads and does not have any TV ad reservations booked.”
“As recently as the first full week of December, the GOP entrepreneur’s campaign spent more than $200,000 on TV ads. Last week, it spent just $6,000 on ads — all of it on TV,” the report continued.
However, the report noted, Ramaswamy’s campaign has pushed back on the claim by stating its still spending on ads elsewhere — not just on TV.
“We are focused on bringing out the voters we’ve identified — best way to reach them is using addressable advertising, mail, text, live calls and doors to communicate with our voters on Vivek’s vision for America, making their plan to caucus and turning them out,” campaign press secretary Tricia McLaughlin told NBC News.
“As you know, this isn’t what most campaigns look like. We have intentionally structured this way so that we have the ability to be nimble and hypertargeted in our ad spending,” she added.
Ramaswamy has likewise tweeted that spending money on TV campaign ads “is idiotic”:

The timing is nevertheless a little odd, given that less than a month remains until the Jan. 15th Iowa caucuses.
This change in strategy likewise comes a month after the campaign “announced that it planned to spend over $10 million on ads — broadcast, cable, radio, digital and direct mail — in Iowa and New Hampshire.”
Meanwhile, according to NBC News, Ramaswamy’s rivals, including Trump, are continuing to spend money on TV ads.
“In the same week that Ramaswamy spent just $6,000 on TV ads, Trump’s campaign spent $1.1 million, followed by [Nikki] Haley’s $1 million, [Ron] DeSantis’ $270,000 and [Chris] Christie’s $88,000,” NBC News noted.
Perhaps because of the odd timing, a number of folks suspect Ramaswamy is preparing to drop out of the race and endorse Trump.

So Vivek has basically taken the hint that he’s not winning Iowa or New Hampshire.
He’s basically running to be either VP or a cabinet member at this point.

Trump, for his part, reportedly said in an interview back in August that he believes Ramaswamy would potentially be a “very good” vice president.
All this comes days after Ramaswamy claimed on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that he isn’t interested in working for a potential Trump administration.
“I didn’t get to where I am — I’m 38 years old, I’ve founded multiple multibillion-dollar companies, we’re blessed with the American dream to be able to sell finance and lift this presidential campaign up,” he said.
“I didn’t get where I am, [Apoorva Ramaswamy] didn’t get to where she is by being ‘Plan B people,’ and so I’m actually confident we’re going to overdeliver massively at the Iowa caucus,” he added.

He added that the world is in store for “a major surprise” on Jan. 15th, the day of the Iowa caucuses.
“Mark my words on this: I think we’re going to have a major surprise on Jan. 15. I respect Trump and his accomplishments for this country,” he said.
“Unlike a lot of other candidates, I’m not sitting here Monday morning quarterbacking some decision he made, but I believe we are the right people to take our America-First agenda to the next level. I think it’s going to take somebody with fresh legs, somebody from the next generation if I may say it, to lead the next generation,” he added.
