Prominent transgender ‘activist’ in Philly charged in rape of two boys under 13

A prominent transgender LGBT activist from Philadelphia who went viral in 2020 was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping two young boys.

Kendall Stephens, a 37-year-old “transgender woman,” was charged with rape, involuntary assault, unlawful contact with minors, and indecent assault against people less than 13 years old, according to the New York Post.

Stephens went viral in August of 2020 when he claimed that he’d been the victim of a group assault that he’d characterized as a hate crime.

The alleged incident skyrocketed him into local celebrity status and gave him enough clout that he was able to work with legislators to pass laws protecting members of the LGBT community.

“I went to class the next day I was beaten because let me tell you something no one is going to steal my pride, no one is going to steal my power. We deserve better than we have gotten. We are human beings,” he proudly boasted to CBS News as early as this past March.

He’s now back in the spotlight, albeit for a very sinister reason.

According to the victims’ aunt, “Aunt Kendall,” Stephens had been a family friend who’d taken advantage of their trust.

“She’s a family friend who has been around since they were born. You had this aunt stature in their life and they’re thinking I don’t wanna tell an adult because I don’t want something bad to happen to Aunt Kendall,” the aunt recalled to local station WTXF.

The abuse was originally reported to the police on Sept. 25th, 2023.

“The aunt [said] her youngest nephew, just 7 years old, reported the alleged abuse to their grandmother and that’s when she says her two other nephews opened up,” according to the station.

“We were able to sit them down individually is when they broke down and cried and said everything that happened,” she recalled.

And then when she, along with the boys’ mother, confronted Stephens, he “didn’t deny it to us,” the aunt added. Instead he tried to flip the story and claim that one of the boys, only nine years old, had tried to kiss her.

“No, he didn’t!” the aunt said incredulously.

I feel like she was grooming my nephews…my nephews have definitely endured a lot,” she added.

The aunt also expressed worry that Stephens might use his fame to avoid facing justice.

“I don’t want her stature to be able to use this reputation and think that it’s gonna be able to get her out of this situation because what she did to my nephews is unbelievable,” the aunt said.

Stephens is one of a growing number of LGBT-linked suspects who’ve been caught either grooming children or being in possession of child pornographoy.

In the summer of 2022, for example, a Pennsylvania drag queen and activist was charged with 25 counts of child pornography.

“Brice Williams, a local drag queen who counseled LGBT youth in Harrisburg, has been charged with downloading photos and videos of child pornography two years ago,” The Patriot-News reported at the time.

“Williams, 26, of Chambersburg, is charged with 25 counts of child pornography for at least 49 photos and 25 videos of naked, prepubescent boys that the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office said he downloaded between May and December 2020,” the paper added.

More recently, last April an Idaho high school teacher who’d also reportedly been an outspoken LGBT activist was arrested for allegedly raping a student he’d once taught.

“Eric McDermott, 59, of Meridian, faces charges of rape and sexual battery committed by lewd or lascivious acts on a minor 16 to 17 years of age,” the Idaho Statesman reported at the time.

According to the prosecution, McDermott, a geography teacher and boys’ basketball coach at Fairmont Junior High, taught the student when he was 15.

A year later in 2020, McDermott allegedly contacted the student on a “dating hookup site,” where he proceeded to speak to the boy for a few days and allegedly send him nude photos.

Eventually, the Fairmont Junior High teacher picked the boy up, drove him to his home, and then allegedly sexually assaulted him.
