When it comes to the left’s relentless over-the-top rhetoric, sometimes it just has to be said.
While Vivek Ramaswamy may not have come across as presidential timber, the Republican delivered a message to CNN host Van Jones that many on the right surely have thought a time or two when he told the hard-left political analyst to “just shut the f*ck up.”
Speaking Sunday at Turning Point USA’s annual AmericaFest conference in Phoenix, Arizona, Ramaswamy set his sights on Jones for essentially comparing him to a Nazi.
“You got this character, Van Jones, on CNN afterward saying this is the rise of an American demagogue who is going to live 50 years longer than Trump,” he said. “This is dangerous. I am shaking. That’s what he says. Just shut the f*ck up.”

As the crowd erupted with applause and laughter, Ramaswamy offered an encore performance, “At a certain point. Just shut the f*ck up. Van Jones at CNN. We’re done with it.”
Jones said during the fourth GOP primary debate earlier this month that Ramaswamy left him “shaking” because he was witnessing “the rise of an American demagogue.”
“You’re watching the rise of an American demagogue that is a very, very despicable person,” Jones said. “And I literally, I was shaking listening to him talk because a lot of people don’t know. That is one step away from Nazi propaganda coming out of his mouth.”
Ramaswamy set the moment up by explaining what Jones was responding to.
“We demand a government that tells us the truth again in this country. That’s what we require – we can handle the truth. That’s what it means to be a citizen of this country,” he stated. “So I say that on that last debate stage to a bunch of Republicans that are shaking in their boots, these are the things you’re not supposed to say in the Republican Party even today. And then you get the mainstream media.”
When it comes to the right, it’s safe to say the jury is still out on Ramaswamy but that he can get your attention every now and then.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
