Support for Israel could cost Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) dearly in his bid to move up to the U.S. Senate after a left-wing mayor pulled his endorsement over the congressman’s refusal to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony said that he would be throwing his support behind Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) in the race to fill the seat that was vacated when 90-year-old Dianne Feinstein died in September, a powerful spot that the disgraced Russiagate hoaxer deeply covets.
In an interview with the Washington Post, Anthony said that the censured Democrat’s “silence on a cease-fire is what really drew me to consider” pulling his support from Schiff. “And the continued silence is why I endorsed Barbara Lee.”

“We need a candidate who has risen to meet the challenges of today. Congresswoman Barbara Lee is the progressive choice for our time. I am proud to endorse Rep. Lee for the United States Senate to represent California,” the mayor wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
“If my endorsement has any power whatsoever,” Anthony told The WaPo, “I’m hoping it sheds a light not only on what is happening in our country, but what our country is doing in other countries.”
An outspoken champion of the reparations wealth confiscation scheme, Lee was the lone holdout vote for retaliation against the terrorists that attacked America on September 11, 2001. She has also called for the United Nations to monitor the 2020 election as well as former President Donald J. Trump’s “human rights abuses” at the southern border, proposals that have endeared her to militant progressive, many of who support the Hamas terror organization.

“From the picket line to City Hall, Mayor Konstantine has demonstrated his unwavering commitment to equity, dignity, and security for Burbank and Los Angeles at large,” Lee said in a statement from her office. “I’m deeply honored to have his endorsement, and look forward to his support on our people-powered campaign.”
The switcheroo is a major embarrassment to Schiff whose home district includes Burbank.
“Adam supports Israel’s right to defend itself and supports humanitarian pauses to encourage the release of hostages and allow critical aid to reach civilians in Gaza,” Schiff campaign spokesperson Maryam Ahmed said in a statement.
The former House Intelligence Committee chairman was a hero of leftists for leading the inquisition against Trump with his work on the failed impeachment as well as the now-defunct J6 committee but has found out that the only thing that the party’s base hates more than the orange man, it’s Israel.
