Former first lady Rosalynn Carter was laid to rest on Tuesday and aside from the sad realization of just how frail 99-year-old Jimmy Carter is, all the talk seemed to center on Melania Trump’s presence at the funeral.
According to the Washington Post, Rosalynn Carter told her family that Melania Trump was invited to the service, hoping that all the first ladies would join in a show of solidarity as her farewell tribute.
“The five surviving members of the First Lady Sisterhood were united today as they stood together front and center at Rosalynn Carter’s funeral. Melania Trump, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and current first lady Jill Biden appeared to temporarily bury their differences to remember one of their exclusive club,” the Daily Mail reported.
And oh did the hate flow:
Dear Melania,
Next funeral, just stay home. Your attention seeking is classless and not wanted.
Everyone else wore black or dark blue, and you know that’s protocol. If you didn’t, your stylists did.
I wish we could send you back to Yugoslavia. pic.twitter.com/hP7tNVNpUu

Mrs. Trump stood out for her choice of attire, as the British newspaper noted in reporting that she “opted for a distinctive gray tweed coat, which she teamed with black shoes and leather gloves, while the others instead donned muted all-black ensembles.”

Turns out, she was also praised for her fashion choice.
Republican politician Vernon Jones tweeted: “Thank you @MELANIATRUMP for being different. Continue to be an Eagle, not a buzzard; rise and fly high above them. One courageous woman in a crowd is the majority. The liberal media and the other Buzzards are doing nothing but drinking #HaterRade!”

Jones would also share this tribute to the class Melania Trump displayed while going into “the lions den.”
No one has more class than @MELANIATRUMP. She went into and left the lions den with her head up. She’s above politics and politricks. It was about paying respect to someone who was a part of a small group of special women who shared a common bond, that 99.99999% of women will… pic.twitter.com/DkRxO8tXds

At one point, Mrs. Trump was seen greeting country music star Garth Brooks, who sang a rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine at the ceremony.

Liberals are melting down because Rosalyn Carter wanted Melania Trump at her funeral ceremony…
And they’re also BIG MAD that Melania wore a gray coat…seriously… lol
“She has no class! She should’ve worn black!!”
I’d like to point out that they have nothing to say when it… pic.twitter.com/u643fG2qIo
