The Philadelphia Police Department released a startling video capturing a brazen daytime home invasion in Philadelphia’s East Oak Lane neighborhood.
The crime took place on Nov. 6 and a small child is seen looking on as the armed thieves tie up and assault two people inside the home after confronting them on the front lawn.
“The complainant reported to police he runs a business out of his home. On November 6th he was outside with an employee when a black Acura (2007 or 2008) pulled up and four Hispanic males got out and at gunpoint brought them back into the house,” the PPD said in a statement. “While in the house the offenders tied up and assaulted the complainants and his family. The complainant reported the offenders took his safe, firearms and jewelry before fleeing west bound on 66th Ave.”
The security camera footage shows four armed men jump out of a black Acura and ambush the man and one of his employees, forcing them inside where they were pistol-whipped. The victim’s 4-year-old daughter was a witness to the violence.
“My daughter watched everything, she was scared, she was crying so much” the mother told FOX 29. “She made a lot of noise and they told her ‘shut up or I’ll kill you too’.”
“They know I have a business because they asked ‘Where is the money? Where is the money?’ and I said ‘I have no money’,” the victim said.
The man operates a tobacco delivery business from his home.
“My wife, she cries every night. She can’t sleep,” the man said of the terrifying robbery. “She can’t sleep.”
