Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon have been holding private conversations about the global economy, Axios reported Tuesday.
Dimon believes the presidential candidate has the ability to unite the country, and is fond of her views on the economy, particularly how business and government can work hand-in-hand to increase prosperity, a top banking source told Axios. The conversations indicate a growing interest in Haley from the establishment as the former ambassador continues to have strong debate performances and is surging in the polls.
The CEO frequently promotes global competitiveness to advance a free enterprise economy, while also pushing green energy initiatives. Dimon has been leading the global financial services firm since 2006, leading it to become the world’s largest bank by market capitalization.
The CEO and other top American executives discreetly traveled to meet with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials or other involved individuals earlier this year to foster partnership with the U.S.
Dimon has yet to endorse a candidate for president and has not donated to Haley’s or any other White House campaign, according to Federal Election Commission filings. The CEO contributed $3,300 both to House Democratic Minority Whip Katherine Clark and Montana Democratic Sen. Jon Tester this year.
The RealClearPolitics (RCP) average for a 2024 national Republican primary, based on polls conducted between Oct. 17 and Nov. 5, indicates that Haley has 9% support behind only former President Donald Trump with 58.5% and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis with 14.4%.
In the key early nominating states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the former ambassador has jumped in the polls to either second place or just points away from it, according to the RCP.
Neither Haley nor Dimon immediately responded to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment.
