A House Democrat has called for a 72-hour ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and for President Joe Biden to appoint former President Barack Obama as the “chief negotiator” to secure the release of the hostages who are being held by the terrorists.
On Tuesday, Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) an obscure lawmaker whose Detroit-area congressional district borders that of Jew-hating firebomber Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) issued a statement calling for Mr. Obama to don his Superman cape and fly to the rescue.

“Today, I am calling on Israel to institute a 72-hour humanitarian pause to negotiate the release of the hostages held by Hamas and the surrender of Hamas leaders responsible for the Oct. 7 attack,” the Democrat lawmaker said. “During this pause, President Biden should appoint a chief negotiator to bring all parties to the table. I can think of no one better than former President Barack Obama to lead these efforts. If, at the end of 72 hours, no sufficient progress has been made, Israel should resume its military operations with the goal of destroying Hamas while minimizing civilian casualties.”
It is a shining example of how to Democrats, the nation’s 44th president is a miracle worker who many seem to believe is capable of walking on water.
Some took to X to express incredulity that Rep. Thanedar would choose Obama for the job considering his miserable record when it comes to the Middle East.
In what universe is Obama, the man indirectly responsible for the current chaos in M/E being a negotiator a good idea?

Obama will give Hamas $400B

Obama would order Israel to lay down and die and tell everyone how disappointed he is that they didn’t do that to begin with. https://t.co/ygXbN0JRq8

You’re a dumbass.
1. Until hamas releases hostages, you can GFY with a ‘ceasefire’
2. The ceasefire would only last until hamas breaks it, but you’ll only cry about it when Israel responds
3. Obama enabled hamas and his fingerprints are on this whole thing. Worst prez in history— Matty Harris (@MattyHarris20) November 7, 2023
You want a known jihadist to negotiate this? No. @BarackObama

The “chief negotiator” recently refused to blame the Hamas terrorists for the carnage in Gaza, insisting that everyone is complicit, remarks that were blasted as “Utter and complete bullsh*t” by Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Obama: “What Hamas did was horrific, and there is no justification for it. And what is also true is that the occupation, and what’s happening to Palestinians, is unbearable…

“What utter and complete bullsh*t,” the Texas Republican told Megyn Kelly on Monday. “Was there something else you could have done? Here’s an idea. Don’t give $100 billion to the monsters who are committing these massacres.”
Thanedar may not be a household name like his fellow left-wing radicals in Congress who also hail from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) including Reps. Tlaib, Cori Bush (D-MO), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), and Greg Casar (D-TX) but the anti-Semitic conduct from the organization spurred him to renounce his membership last month.
“Today, I am officially renouncing my membership in the Democratic Socialists of America,” he said in an October 11 statement. “After the brutal terrorist attacks on Israel, which included the indiscriminate murder, rape, and kidnapping of innocent men, women, and children, I can no longer associate with an organization unwilling to call out terrorism in all its forms. Sunday’s hate-filled and antisemitic rally in New York City, promoted by the NYC-DSA, makes it impossible for me to continue my affiliation. I stand with Israel and its right to defend itself. There is no place for moral equivocation in the face of unadulterated evil as we have seen from Hamas.”
