President Biden paid a visit to “American Possibilities: A White House Demo Day” in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday and an exchange with reporters stood as the soon-to-be 81-year-old president said he asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a “pause” in the war against the Palestinian terrorists group Hamas.
With Biden under intense pressure from the left to push for a ceasefire in the Israeli-Hamas conflict, a reporter asked, “Sir, did you ask Bibi for a three-day pause?”
“On heat pumps?” the feeble president asked, either jokingly or unaware of what was asked — the exhibits Biden toured ranged from prosthetic arms to heat pumps.
“Did you ask the prime minister of Israel for a three-day pause?” another reporter called out to clarify the question.
“Didn’t get a chance to talk to him today — did ask him for a pause in the past. Yesterday. Still waiting to hear from him,” Biden replied.
“Sir, did you ask Bibi for a three-day pause?”

The event he attended reportedly showcased innovation spurred by Biden’s economic agenda and his support for federal investments in research and development — the White House touted the investment of more than $200 billion in federal research and development this year.
The question on a pause came after Axios cited two U.S. and Israeli officials to report that Biden “urged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in their call on Monday to agree to a three-day pause in the fighting to allow progress in releasing some of the hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.”
“According to a proposal that is being discussed between the U.S., Israel and Qatar, Hamas would release 10-15 hostages and use the three-day pause to verify the identities of all the hostages and deliver a list of names of the people it is holding,” Axios reported.
Hamas reportedly claimed in a statement Tuesday that it was ready to release 12 foreign nationals it is holding hostage, but it couldn’t because of Israel’s military operation. Axios cited an Israeli assessment to report that Hamas is holding about 180 hostages, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad is holding another 40 and people loosely affiliated with the militant factions are holding about 20.
Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel would be open to “tactical little pauses” in Gaza to allow for humanitarian aid or permit the release of hostages held by Hamas, according to CBS News. However, Israel has rejected any possible ceasefire without the release of hostages.
