A New Jersey man was arrested for allegedly contaminating food and utensils at the elementary school where he worked as a janitor in one of the most sickening stories of the year.
Giovanni Impellizzeri of Vineland, a 25-year-old employee of Elizabeth Moore School in Upper Deerfield Township was taken into custody by police on Halloween after school authorities received several anonymous tips about his social media activity, with details of depravity documented on videos in “alarming posts” on the encrypted messaging app Telegram.
Among the grotesque acts that Impellizzeri is accused of are “wiping his anus, penis, and testicles, and spitting saliva on kitchen utensils and bread,” which according to authorities was “likely used to prepare food and served to children at his place of employment, with the intention of harming the children,” and “spraying bleach into a container of cucumbers.”
The videos allegedly showed Impellizzeri “masturbating and urinating” on pillows and kitchen bowls.

“On 10/30/23, the NJSP was contacted by school authorities who had received multiple anonymous tips in reference to posts listed on a social media platform. Authorities retrieved multiple screenshots and video postings of the defendant in a school setting performing sexual acts with inanimate objects at the school,” the Cumberland County prosecutor stated in a press release.
“The defendant is alleged to have tampered with or otherwise contaminated food products and utensils located within the school cafeteria with bleach and personal bodily fluids (including saliva, urine and feces) that were allegedly offered for consumption to school students and/or staff,” the statement reads.
“The defendant is further alleged to have subjected items located at another area within the school to personal bodily fluids. During the investigation, NJSP Detectives recovered items matching or resembling items that were depicted in the videos,” the prosecutor’s office said.
“Video showed Giovanni Impellizzeri utilized multiple pieces of bread to wipe his penis, testicles, and anus, as well as spitting on the bread, before putting the bread back into the container to be later served to children at the school,” a police affidavit stated, according to NJ.com. Impellizzeri was also seen “masturbating and urinating on pillows and kitchen bowls.”
“This is a public health crisis at this point. We don’t know who, where he’s been,” Rachel Jenkins, a parent is quoted by 6 ABC Philadelphia.
“Kids are getting sick, having diarrhea, vomiting, and we’re blaming it on a belly bug when in reality it could be hepatitis, it could be food poisoning,” Cristencia Jenkins, another parent, told the outlet. “Like, who knows what else he’s putting in there?”
“The Upper Deerfield Township School District has fully cooperated with authorities. The school district is working closely with the Cumberland County Department of Health to ensure food preparation, serving utensils and surfaces have been properly sanitized and any food products in question have been discarded,” the prosecutor’s office said in its press release.
“In addition, authorities are taking steps to collect bodily fluid specimens for the defendant to determine if there is any potential for infectious disease transmission to those who consumed food at the school,” the statement reads.
The Cumberland County Department of Health advised “parents of students and others who may have consumed contaminated food should contact their healthcare provider if they show signs of illness, particularly severe illness.”
Impellizzeri has worked at the school since 2019.
