Eventbrite removes ‘protecting women’s sports’ page for event reaturing Riley Gaines

Daily Caller News Foundation

Eventbrite deleted a “Protecting Women’s Sports” page for an event featuring Riley Gaines, a former NCAA swimmer and women’s rights in sports advocate, according to a statement from Gaines.

Eventbrite previously deleted conservative or pro-women events from their website citing alleged violations of their terms and conditions, including a screening of the documentary “What is a Woman” and an event held by the Independent Women’s Network, “Let Women Speak Austin.” Eventbrite is now claiming that Gaines’ “Protecting Women’s Sports” event page violates “Community Guidelines” by discriminating on the basis of “gender identity” and “sexual orientation,” and deleted the page.

“We have determined that your event is not permitted on the Eventbrite marketplace as it violates our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service, with which all users agree to comply,” a photo of an email posted by Riley Gaines read.

“Specifically, we do not allow content or events – though on-or off-platform activity – discriminate against, harass, disparage, threaten, incite violence against, or otherwise target individuals of groups based on their actual or perceived race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, immigration status, gender identity, sexual orientation, veteran status, age, or disability. As a result, your event has been unpublished,” the email continues.

Co-founder of Eventbrite told blog and news site Outkick to “go f*** yourself” in a tweet when they pointed out that a multitude of pro-Hamas events were still available on the website at the time of deletion of Gaines’ event. Eventbrite quietly deleted the pro-Hamas events following Outkick bringing them to Eventbrite’s attention, according to Outkick.

“Eventbrite has consistently shown disregard for women who boldly stand on the side of objective truth and reality. The company is egregious in its categorization of women’s rights events as ‘hateful’ or somehow dangerous, especially considering the actual violence they readily promote and platform,” Michelle Evans, women’s rights activist, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Eventbrite did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.
