Students at George Washington University (GWU) projected pro-Hamas messages on a campus building Tuesday, according to the photos posted on X, formerly Twitter.
The messages included “President Granberg Is Complicit In Genocide In Gaza,” “Free Palestine From The River To The Sea” and “Glory To Our Martyrs,” according to photos that were reportedly taken by a student. The messages were “unauthorized” and “in no way reflect the views of the university,” GWU said in a statement.
“On Tuesday evening, the university became aware of several unauthorized projections on a campus building. The projections on the university’s library violated university policy. and leadership intervened to ensure that these projections were removed,” GWU said.

“We are reviewing this incident and will take any appropriate steps with respect to the individuals involved in accordance with university policies,” the statement continued.
Student organizations at several universities around the country held pro-Palestinian rallies following the Hamas Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel.
GWU Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) hosted a “Vigil for the Martyrs of Palestine” on the school’s campus on Oct. 10. The chapter also put out a statement Oct. 9 that said it “stands in full support of the liberation of our homeland and our people’s right to resist the violent 75-year long colonization of our homeland by any means necessary.”
“We recognize the distress, hurt, and pain this has caused for many members of our community,” GWU said in its statement. “The university will continue to communicate with all members of its community about the support resources available during this difficult time.”
GWU did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
