Ted Cruz: ‘Hamas’s terror attack on Israel was paid for by Joe Biden’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) insisted during an interview with CBS News Texas the attack on Israel by the terrorist group Hamas was “paid for by Joe Biden,” calling this “one of the most disturbing things” about the conflict.

“This terrorist attack, in a very, very real way, was paid for by Joe Biden and the Biden administration,” Cruz said. “In the last two and a half years, the Biden administration has flowed $50 billion to Iran.”

“There are four buckets of money that have gone to Iran, and Hamas works for Iran — Iran planned this attack. Iran funded this attack and Iran is directing this attack,” he said, before breaking down the four buckets.

The first bucket represents the $6 billion in Iranian assets Biden recently unfroze in exchange for five American hostages, which Cruz insisted only incentivized more hostage-taking. He named another $10 billion in released funds based in Iraq, before saying that when Biden took office he “stopped enforcing the oil sanctions” in place resulting in 2 million barrels of Iranian oil being sold daily.

“It is funding this war — that has been over $40 billion that Joe Biden has allowed Iran to make from oil sales,” Cruz said.

The fourth bucket is the Biden administration sending hundreds of millions of dollars to the Gaza Strip, with the senator saying that money would end up with Hamas and be used to “carry out acts of terror against Israel.”

“This was imminently predictable,” Cruz insisted.
