Jamaal Bowman calls for US to ‘welcome’ Palestinian refugees fleeing Gaza – GOP lawmakers balk

Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) is calling for the U.S. to be the new home for some of the expected 1 million Palestinian refugees who could flee Gaza as a result of Israel’s military efforts to wipe out Hamas after the Islamist terror group’s barbaric attack on the Jewish democracy last weekend.

As Israel begins to get about the dirty business of cleaning the terrorists out of the densely populated area, warning civilians to get out before the ground offensive commences, leftists have been howling about “ethnic cleansing” and “war crimes” and Bowman, not content with the nation already being overrun by illegal aliens, wants even more foreigners to enjoy life on the U.S. taxpayer dime.

The anti-Israel “squad” member shared his big idea with the New York Post’s Jon Levine who reported on the congressman’s controversial suggestion which for logical reasons, drew a strong reaction from Republican lawmakers and other critics while the White House remains mum.

“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children. The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” the hotheaded left-wing Democrat told the New York Post reporter.

But GOP senators balked at Bowman’s proposed rolling out the welcome mat for the Palestinian refugees.

“The U.S. is the most generous nation in the world, but we are in no position to accept additional refugees, especially from a region with as high a risk of terrorism, given our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here,” Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) told the outlet.

Rubio’s fellow Floridian, Senator Rick Scott told the Post that “the entire focus of the United States right now should be on rescuing American hostages, and making sure that Israel has every resource needed to defeat Iran backed-Hamas and defend its homeland.”

“Iran should take responsibility for any Palestinian refugees caused by its proxy . . . war with Israel. Iran is responsible for the death and destruction — it should be responsible for refugees as well,” added Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) who suggested that the Islamic Republic, already a haven for terrorists, would be a preferable option.

“The White House repeatedly refused to say whether it would be open to accepting refugees from the conflict,” according to the New York Post report.

Some House Republicans have launched a preemptive strike against the Biden administration in case the open borders regime agrees with the volatile New York City congressman.

Reps. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) and Andy Ogles (R-TN) shared their plans to introduce the GAZA Act which stands for “Guaranteeing Aggressors Zero Admission Act” with Breitbart News.

“Following the horrific attack by Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists on innocent Israeli civilians, the last thing America ought to do is trust identity documents issued by the radicals that oversee these territories,” Rep. Tiffany said in a statement. “We need to put our security at home first and that starts by closing the door to bad actors who might be seeking to enter our country.”

Bowman – a ticking human time bomb – recently made headlines when he pulled a fire alarm at the Cannon House Office Building, causing a brief evacuation as lawmakers were scrambling to keep the federal government open with a stopgap funding bill.
