Arizona’s Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs suddenly and inexplicably stepped down on Wednesday as mystery swirled over the bizarre move that left Treasurer Kimberly Yee in the role of acting governor until mid-morning on Thursday.
“I have been notified that I will be serving as Acting Governor beginning later this evening until mid-morning tomorrow,” Yee announced on X, the platform previously known as Twitter.

“While I am pleased to step in this role, I will refrain from naming directors to the 13 agencies that currently have vacancies and will not call the Arizona Legislature into session to confirm them,” the acting governor said in a statement. “That being said, I do hope when the Governor returns to Arizona, she will promptly name qualified directors to these important state agencies.”
“I expect to see a quick resolution on this matter, so we can get the work done for Arizona taxpayers,” added Yee. “The people of Arizona deserve leaders who follow the rule of law.”
Hobbs narrowly beat out her Republican opponent Kari Lake who was endorsed by former President Donald J. Trump in a contest tainted by controversy last year.
“We have received word that in a violation of our state constitution, @katiehobbs appointed the SAME person as head of ALL 13 state agencies. Until this is remedied, anything done by these agencies is likely legally null & void,” the Kari Lake War Room posted to X. “Hobbs has turned the @9thFloorAZ into a circus.”

The strange disappearance of Hobbs without any sort of formal explanation had X users wondering “WTF is going on in Arizona?”
Republican Kimberly Yee is currently the Acting Governor of Arizona while the fraud Katie Hobbs is …. where, exactly??

It’s even stranger that the treasurer is the 3rd person in the line of succession so where are the Secretary of State and Attorney General at also? Very very unusual and I need to know more as an AZ constituent…

Where is the alleged governor? Are there arrests pending?

Sounds scetchy to me.
I can hear it already…..
“I wasn’t the acting governor during that time.”

Arizona definitely has had some strange things happening in the governor’s office for a while now. You would expect an elected office like that to be more transparent with people, even if only to avoid speculation.

Katie Hobbs is off duty as governor for the night. State Treasurer Kimberly Yee is acting governor of AZ until tomorrow.
No one knows why, but at least Arizona residents can have a peaceful night sleep for a change without Cartel Katie at the helm.

In other Arizona-related news, Lake told The Wall Street Journal that she will be launching her U.S. Senate campaign next month.
“We need to get a senator in there who is going to fight back and put America first,” the fiery Republican said in an interview with the outlet.
