The 25-year-old man who allegedly shot a man dead and wounded three others on a random shooting spree was caught on camera grinning after being charged with murder.
Thomas Abreu is accused of killing Homod Ali Saeidi, 86, and shooting three others over the span of 12 minutes. Authorities claim he pulled out a 9mm handgun while riding a blue scooter and began firing off shots at passers-by. They are also saying that Abreu was complaining he was being pursued by Russians and Chinese people when he was finally apprehended, but decided it was better to stay silent when the topic of the shooting was broached.
On Sunday afternoon, he was walked out of the 107th Precinct to massive media attention. He flashed a sickening grin at the cameras, as though he hadn’t just taken one life and attempted to end several others.

Abreu is currently facing one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in connection to the event. However, it remains to be seen how New York’s famously soft criminal justice system will handle this case.
