A black female college student ripped the mic away from a white educator during a graduation ceremony in a video that has exploded across social media where it has drawn tens of thousands of comments.
In the viral video that was recorded at an unidentified school, Kadia Iman, the graduating student is seen battling with the older white woman for control over the mic as her classmates were in line waiting to receive their diplomas.
“I want the mic! Let go! You didn’t let me get my moment,” the student is heard yelling as she violently yanks the electronic device away from the educator, announcing her name. ”I’m graduating today. I don’t like how you snatched the mic out of my hand, so today is going to be all about me!” Iman said as she made the announcement to the crowd that it was all about her.
“Oh! Drops the mic! Congratulations!” One bystander was heard exclaiming.
“Today is all about me” says the most uninteresting and unimpressive person you’ll ever encounter. It’s always the dullest, blandest nobodies who think they’re the main characters.

Iman, who has over 39,000 followers on TikTok posted the video to her account where as of Friday morning it has drawn nearly 23,000 comments, gave her side of the story in a separate video.

“Basically, what happened was I was walking on and we had to say our names before we get on the stage,” she said. “So I was saying my name and she literally — my name is long, obviously, I have like three syllables in my name.”
“So, I didn’t even get to finish saying my name, and then the people that went before me, they all got to say their name, their major, and even extras,” Iman said. “Me and another girl noticed that she was pulling the mic down super fast for some black people — I don’t want to be that person, so I just couldn’t let her … I just couldn’t let that happen.”
“I just feel like I worked so hard to graduate and went through so much s–t to graduate that I just felt like I had to reclaim my moment. I’m sorry. I’m not a problematic person. I don’t want to ruin no one’s day,” Iman added.
Users on TikTok were mostly down with what she did according to the feedback.
One user wrote, “Spending all that money at a University and that try to play you on your day??? You did right girl!!! Congratulations love!!!”
“Congratulations queen but the security doing nothing is killing me,” another user wrote.
One user cheered, “Yess queen♥️”
Another commented, “You did absolutely nothing wrong and you fully deserved your moment! Congratulations on graduating! Also, you’re absolutely beautiful! ”
“I can feel her pain. Racism is just so painful,” wrote another. “I don’t know why people don’t understand.”
There were numerous others who simply commented “queen,” “period,” and “congratulations.”
The name of the college has not been reported nor has any context been provided of what occurred before Iman’s mic drop moment.
