Somewhat surprisingly, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, a 2024 Republican presidential primary candidate, was in Miami ahead of former President Donald Trump’s expected arraignment Tuesday on 37 counts in relation to the classified documents found during the unprecedented FBI raid at Mar-a-Lago, including 31 charges related to the Espionage Act.
Speaking before a small crowd and plenty of media outlets, Ramaswamy talked about holding the Biden administration accountable when he announced that he filed a Freedom of Information Act Request (FOIA) demanding the release of all communications surrounding Trump’s indictment, beginning with President Joe Biden. He also announced that he will sue in federal court if his request is not processed within the required 20 days, using his own campaign funds for the action.
“The news media should be doing this. It’s a shame that a competitor to Donald Trump in this election has to do the job of the political news media,” Ramaswamy said, telling reporters on hand that their job is “to hold the U.S. government accountable for their lies.”

Critics might suggest that Ramaswamy is not much of an opponent to Trump, given that he spends much of his time attacking the former president’s strongest rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. There is a popular belief that Ramaswamy is vying for a job in a potential Trump administration.
It certainly didn’t help his cause when unhinged Trump supporter Laura Loomer stepped in to offer Ramaswamy a megaphone when he was having problems with the PA system — par for the course, she appeared to hand him a “faulty megaphone.”
Of course it is @LauraLoomer with the faulty megaphone… More and more obvious @VivekGRamaswamy is just there as a Trump Team things https://t.co/Khckiqlc8N
