Tourists living it up on a Florida beach thought they’d do a good deed for what appeared to be a large dog swimming with them in the water.
Then they figured out it was a black bear.
While it’s not often that bears make their way to the water, Captain Chris Kirby, from Charter Boat Backlash claims it’s not “uncommon” to see a one enjoying a beach day just like anyone else.
“It’s not uncommon,” he explained. “There are a lot of bears at Eglin Air Force Base. They swim across the bay. Sometimes they go for a joy swim. Everybody’s just got cellphones now and they get pictures.”
That is likely of small comfort to beach-goers, but who could deny this cute little guy a romp in the waves?
