Biden’s Energy Secretary touts conversion of military fleet to electric vehicles by 2030

With the nation facing the very real prospect of war against two global superpowers simultaneously, it would seem to be common sense for the Biden regime to ensure that the military is prepared and in a heightened state of combat readiness for a potential conflict with both Russia and China instead of having to deal with silly social engineering and other ideologically driven projects.

But that is exactly the opposite of what is happening, and loopy Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm appeared before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Wednesday where she ensured lawmakers that she is optimistic that the military can get there as far as converting to an electric vehicle fleet by the end of the decade.

There are few bigger true believers in the new green utopia- even if it puts the nation’s security at risk – than the former Democrat governor of Michigan and during her testimony, she responded to questioning by Republican Senator Joni Ernst of Iowa, a military veteran.

“Do you support the military adopting that EV fleet by 2030?” Ernst asked.

The secretary replied, “I do, and I think we can get there as well. And I do think that reducing our reliance on the volatility of globally traded fossil fuels where we know that global events such as the war in Ukraine can jack up prices for people back home does not contribute to energy security.”

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) reacted to the latest example of the administration’s climate cult lunacy.

“Is Jennifer Granholm insane? Or does she want our military completely and utterly DESTROYED!? Requiring military vehicles to be “all-electric” will devastate our ability to fight! The ‘green’ craziness needs to END!!” Jackson tweeted.

Granholm was also lit up by Twitter users for her ridiculous remarks which would be laughable were the regime not dead serious about the green leap of faith that could be off the end of a cliff.

In 2021, National Defense Magazine was cool to the idea of the practicality of a rapid conversion of the U.S. military to a green, mean, fighting machine.

“Despite the Army showing interest in electric vehicles, the study, ‘Powering the U.S. Army of the Future,’ noted that all-electric ground combat platforms and tactical supply vehicles are not practical now or in the foreseeable future,” the publication wrote, citing a “sprawling study” by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

For those who thought that there could never be a worse idea than forcing the military to undergo gender sensitivity training, here it is.
