Celebrity chef lectures on ‘moral imperative’ to support Ukraine and Twitter was NOT having it

The disconnect between Washington, D.C., the leftist cultural elite, and real America couldn’t be more clear when it comes to Ukraine and the blind support of politicians continuing to pour money into the war-torn country at a time when many in their own nation are in desperate need.

While the preening of elected leaders during their orgy of worship for the diminutive, military fatigue-clad Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy before a joint session of Congress this week left many feeling nauseous, it was the virtue signaling of celebrity chef Rachael Ray that really triggered a gag reflex.

In a USA Today column, the Food Network star and entrepreneur lectured Americans that it was their “moral imperative” to unwaveringly support Ukraine through the “bitter winter” even as this week’s frigid temperatures have combined with economic misery to inflict a devastating one-two punch on those in need right here in the homeland.

“We have a moral imperative to stand with Ukrainians to fight in any and every way possible and for as long as it takes. Funding is in jeopardy with the outcome of midterm elections. We need to have President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s back going into this coming year, as the fight gets harder and with the bitter cold of winter joining the war,” wrote Ray.

“Slava Ukraini and God bless America. May we find peace for all in the new year before us,” she added.

“There is so much need in Ukraine right now. Their struggle is our struggle. They are our friends and allies, and you don’t forget your friends. If we keep the Ukrainian people in our hearts and minds, if we keep their fight and their plight on our lips and in our conversations, we protect our own hopes and priorities as well. They are fighting for us, too. You can see it all, in their eyes,” Ray wrote in her column, along with links to several NGOs to which those who are inclined can donate money.

Twitter users served up their reactions without any sugarcoating.
