The president of a California school board has tendered his resignation as a response to outrage after he invited underaged choir students to perform at a private holiday party.
The party was held at his home where students were allegedly offered alcoholic beverages and witnessed scantily clad performers at the raunchy event which included a “dirty Santa,” infuriating parents who spoke out about the inappropriate situation.
Fox News Digital has confirmed that Claremont Unified School District President Steven Llanusa has bowed to pressure and submitted his letter of resignation for his lapse of judgment after the exposure of the students to the gay-themed house party which took place on December 3 where half-naked men frolicked in Santa hats and plied the youngsters with booze.
According to the outlet, Superintendent Dr. Jim Elsasser confirmed by email that both he and School Board Vice President Kathy Archer had received the letter from Llanusa after the lewd party drew national media attention.
“Thank you for your patience during this very difficult week,” Elsasser wrote in an email updating the community that the Board of Trustees would be discussing steps for the position vacated by Llanusa.

Parent Gabriel Lozano, whose daughter was one of the students invited to the party, said, “They were offered an open bar and to socialize with the half-naked men, a dirty Santa that offered and made disgusting comments toward children.”
“Mr. Llanusa invited the high school choir group into his private adult party in his home,” Sabrina Ho, another parent said at a special meeting of the Claremont school board last week. “They were encouraged to take part in food and festivities. The students didn’t begin their scheduled performance until over an hour later and were offered alcohol by party guests among inappropriately dressed adult entertainers.”
“We are appalled by the allegations, which are understandably causing distraction, disruption and pain, as expressed in community members’ messages to the Board and Superintendent. Please know that we receive and read your messages, and we take your concerns very seriously.” the school board said in a statement. “Though the board cannot require Mr. Llanusa’s resignation, we encourage him to do so in order to begin the process of healing and returning our focus to students and their well-being.”
Social media posts of Llanusa posing with high-profile Democrats including former California attorney general and current Vice President Kamala Harris have been unearthed and published by some media outlets.

According to a Claremont Courier profile, “Llanusa, 62, has been an elementary teacher for 35 years. In 1987, he guided sixth graders in East Los Angeles before spending the next year at a district in Canoga Park. He then found a permanent home at Gerald A. Smith Tech Academy in Bloomington, where he’s been teaching elementary students for the past 33 years. He and his husband Glenn, a doctor at Kaiser Fontana, have been together 36 years and married for 14. They have three grown adopted sons.”
