‘Good riddance!’ Pelosi ends her reign, calls for a ‘new generation to lead the Democratic Caucus’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has announced that she will not pursue re-election to leadership within the Democrat Party.

After nearly 20 years in a leadership role within her party, Pelosi has announced that she will no longer be running for those positions, choosing instead to participate in Congress as an elected leader.

“With great confidence in our caucus I will not seek re-election to Democratic leadership in the next Congress,” Pelosi said. “For me, the hour’s come for a new generation to lead the Democratic caucus that I so deeply respect.”

Pelosi intends to finish out her current term as House Speaker, but her rejection of another leadership role was music to the ears of many on the right side of the aisle:
