Christina Pushaw laughs at traumatized local ‘legacy media’ calling Florida a ‘crimson hellscape’

While the midterms on Tuesday didn’t result in the resounding red wave that had been predicted, Republicans gained just enough seats in key areas that liberal legacy media is melting down anyway.

The GOP won big in Florida, which has been marketed over the last few years as one of the last bastions of sanity and freedom in the United States. This doesn’t sit well with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel whose editorial board posted a piece that is nothing short of a left-wing temper tantrum.

And who better to point and laugh at them than Governor Ron DeSantis’ Rapid Response Director, Christina Pushaw?

“Nice knowing you, Florida,” the article opens dramatically. “After Tuesday’s stunning election results, the state’s political transformation is now nearly complete, from deep purple battleground to crimson hellscape, an ideal launch pad for Gov. Ron DeSantis’ presidential aspirations.”

What should have been a moment of reflection for the left-leaning publication turned into a whine-fest complete with conspiracy theories about voter suppression and abortion restriction.

“We now await a second-term agenda that may feature an open-carry gun law, tighter abortion restrictions, new strategies to suppress the vote and more charter flights for out-of-state migrants, presented with even more of the governor’s trademark hubris,” the editorial laments.

No article from legacy media would be complete without a derisive mention of former President Donald Trump thrown in for good measure.

“And who can blame him? DeSantis’ 19-point blowout victory was historic and nothing short of astounding. Best of all for him, he’s not Donald Trump,” it reads.

But it’s the logistics of DeSantis’ “historic” victory that should really impress. A much-maligned Republican managed to snatch up a good portion of formerly-blue land, something that should send a glaring message to Democrats that their strategy was way, way off.

“He carried 62 of 67 counties, including Miami-Dade and Palm Beach, leaving Broward isolated as a blue island surrounded by red,” the piece explained. “Besides Broward, the only counties that Democrat Charlie Crist carried were Orange and the medium-sized trio of Alachua, Gadsden and Leon, a sea of red reflecting an epic Democratic collapse.”

It didn’t take long for Twitter users to hop on the “point and laugh” bandwagon:
