RNC chair: Dems can’t talk about real issues and policies, because they’re the cause of the pain

The Republican National Committee chair called out Democrats who won’t “acknowledge the pain and suffering” felt by Americans as a result of their policies.

Ronna McDaniel, in a recent appearance on Fox News, said that Democrats were “unleashing the scare tactics” in order to avoid talking about the issues that are affecting real Americans across the country.

Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum played a recent clip of former President Barack Obama at a rally before turning to McDaniel on “The Story.” Obama could be seen speaking about how critical this coming election is as our democracy hangs in the balance.

Speaking to a crowd in Philadelphia, Pa., on Saturday, Obama warned the audience about the future of the country “when true democracy goes away.” The former president then proceeded to paint a dismal picture of a hypothetical future, presumably if Republicans were to take control of Congress. Obama talked about a totalitarian state that would ban its public from reading certain books, or prosecute dissidents and journalists. Obama, himself, knows a little bit about the latter as his administration spent years pursuing journalist and author James Risen.

“Corruption reigns because there is no accountability,” stated the former president, who just a few years after his last term purchased an $11.75 million estate in coveted Martha’s Vineyard.

MacCallum then played one more clip of author and White House historian, Michael Beschloss, who echoed Obama’s bleak forecast of the future. Beschloss contended that what was on the ballot this election was “whether or not we will be a democracy in the future.” He then posited that the results of this critical election will determine whether or not “our children will be arrested or, conceivably killed.”

“I know Halloween was a couple of days ago but really, they’re unleashing the scare tactics,” McDaniel joked in reaction to the points made by Beschloss and Obama.

In response, McDaniel lobbed the democracy-suppression accusations back at the Democratic Party.

“Look, the Democrats wanted to take away the filibuster, they wanted to pack the Supreme Court. They’re the ones who wanted to take away all the voting measures at every state and federalize it,” she said.

“With average Americans right now, affordability is the number one issue with gas, groceries, rent – all the things they’re dealing with and the Democrats keep saying ‘Oh, forget about that it’s not a big issue’. When you can’t put food on the table, that’s a big issue,” she continued. “And the Democrats are refusing to even acknowledge the problems that they have caused for the American people.”

MacCallum replied that voting issues regarding “preserving democracy” don’t rank at the top of people’s concerns these midterms, and said that it raises eyebrows about their political tactics.

“It does,” McDaniel agreed. “They keep using this denier phrase…the Democrats have been inflation deniers, they have been crime deniers, border deniers, fentanyl deniers, education deniers – literally…as they kept our kids out of the classroom.”

“They won’t even acknowledge the pain and suffering Americans feel because of their policies,” she said. She criticized the Democrat Party saying that they had the power to unleash American energy, solve the border crisis by hiring more border patrol agents instead of “70,000 IRS agents,” or ensure they get more teachers in the classroom to help mitigate the deficit the pandemic created but refused to do any of these things.

“They’re the ones denying that these problems even exist, and I think that’s insulting to the voters who are feeling this pain every single day,” McDaniel concluded.
