The appearance in Arizona of former President Barack Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder might signal that Democrats are scraping the bottom of the barre, as they try to rescue the gubernatorial candidacy of Katie Hobbs. Many consider Holder to be unwelcome in the state which has been prosecuting criminals for ten years pursuant to a scandal he oversaw.
The following summary of Holder’s visit is on the candidate’s official election website:
“Arizona Secretary of State and Democratic nominee for governor Katie Hobbs, alongside former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, hosted a press conference with local African American leaders. Holder emphasized Hobbs’ history of protecting the right to vote as Secretary of State while warning of the threat Kari Lake poses for the future of American democracy.”
Holder has also tweeted on the Arizona race:
By voting in key critical statewide and state legislative races, you have the opportunity to make lasting change in your state. In this election, EVERY vote will make a difference to protect our democracy. So check out these #DemocracyDefenders and VOTE!

Whose idea was it to trot out the human reminder of an Obama-era gun-running scandal known as “Fast and Furious” which caused the infamous killing of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry?
The National Border Patrol Union has not forgotten the scandal. They remember Holder’s bloody legacy in the state. His appearance seems to have exposed a nerve.
We see Eric “Fast and Furious” Holder made an appearance in Arizona to try to prop up Katie “Watergate” Hobbs.
The only thing Holder ever accomplished in AZ was getting a BP agent killed with the guns he was giving to cartels. Then he refused to testify about it.

Holder was voted in civil and criminal contempt of Congress on a bipartisan basis in 2012 when he refused to cooperate with a congressional investigation into the failed operation. He wasn’t sentenced to prison, though, as Trump ally Steve Bannon was for the same offense. Apparently, it is not a charge that applies to Democrats, in the end.
“Fast and Furious,” an operation with a start date in November 2009, was run out of the Phoenix office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) office. Criminals were observed buying guns in the U.S. and were allowed to take them into Mexico. The point was to track those guns, if and when they were sold to drug cartels. An estimated 2000 guns were sold to suspected criminals during the operation, but evidence of attempts to trace the guns was never found.
However, two of the guns from the operation were located at the scene of Terry’s death.
One thing about being a Democrat – you never have to be embarrassed. But there is more that should cause embarrassment…
Another issue has been raised in relation to Hobbs’s candidacy. Her current post as Arizona’s Secretary of State represents a glaring conflict of interest, as she oversees an election in which she is a candidate.
It’s not just Kari Lake and Republicans in Arizona calling for Secretary of State Katie Hobbs to recuse herself from official election duties — now an Arizona Democrat who previously held the post says Hobbs should let someone else oversee the midterms. https://t.co/7dRU9yBRzo
