Billionaire and owner of Twitter Elon Musk posted a scathing message to the companies that have elected to pull their advertisements following his takeover, accusing them of “trying to destroy free speech.”
“Twitter has had a massive drop in revenue, due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation and we did everything we could to appease the activists. Extremely messed up! They’re trying to destroy free speech in America,” he wrote.

These companies include: Pfizer, General Mills, Audi, Oreo maker Mondelez International and General Motors. Beauty company L’Oreal has recently denied reports that they too have pulled their ad dollars from Twitter.
Musk got an earful from friends and foes alike as his comments generated quite a buzz:
It’s clear that you can’t appease those activists. They aren’t interested in the truth. They are interested in control. The advertisers will come back in a few months with the users. But adding new revenue streams & potentially rewarding content producers is the path forward.

30+ brands dropped in September when Twitter emailed all advertisers saying that they paid to potentially run ads on child sexual abuse material.
The others stayed anyway and decided to drop off now? Is Elon Musk worse than child sexual abuse material?https://t.co/mouQb4sakY

You’ll never be able to appease the activists. Don’t feed the trolls.

Our nation is in a revolutionary period in which the extremist Left would destroy those institutions it can not control.

If Twitter becomes independent of advertiser revenue, they can no longer influence what type of content is allowed on the platform.

They can’t be appeased. But they can and should be mocked.

The radical left sees appeasement as weakness. It will only embolden them to attack you more. Set a vision & be undeterred in following it. Smart advertisers will be back & there are a lot of conservative companies that can fill the void if they feel comfortable with the platform

They can’t be pleased. We’ve all tried at one point or another. You either fall in line and don’t ask questions or reap the consequences.
I’m ready to pay $8/mo and if there was a more premium offering at $20/mo+ I’d do that.
The people are with you!
