Trump’s biracial ex-girlfriend dishes on ‘white side’ remark, adds critical context Haberman neglected

Donald Trump’s supermodel girlfriend from his pre-Melania days has provided further context for the racially charged quote contained in Maggie Haberman’s gossipy book about the former president.

Kara Young, who is biracial, told Inside Edition that news organizations constantly pestered her about Trump since he entered politics in connection with any story with “racial overtones.”

She has declined to speak publicly about her billionaire ex-boyfriend until now, and that’s only because of the hoopla (primarily in the anti-Trump media) around the Haberman tome. And it’s going to be a one-time thing.

Young confirmed the accuracy of an anecdote in the book written by a journalist who seems obsessed with Trump in a sit-down with her longtime friend and Inside Edition host, Deborah Norville.

Subsequent to meeting her parents, Trump reportedly told Young that “you got your looks from your mother and your intelligence from your dad, the white side,” Norville paraphrased.

“Yeah, that’s true,” Young replied. “When someone says something in jest, are they kidding? You know, I don’t know,” she said, adding that she corrected Trump. “It wasn’t like a fight or anything like that. It was just more like, ‘No, don’t say that. It’s not funny,.'”

Trump responded that he was just joking/kidding, and that “No, I don’t think that.”

Watch the brief interview embedded below and draw your own conclusions:

As part of the segment, Inside Edition somewhat misleadingly played the famous or infamous “very fine people” soundbite in the aftermath of the horrific Charlottesville incident, which prompted allegations of racism leveled against POTUS 45.

“You don’t have to ask me how someone is. You can see how they are by what they say and the comments that they make,” Young asserted, without being more explicit about what she meant.

Whether someone is a fan or foe of Trump, “Dilbert” creator Scott Adams is among those who have debunked the controversy by noting that the then-president also said, “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally.”

“My point is that Trump could have been right or wrong about who attended, but it doesn’t change the fact that his words clearly and unambiguously condemned the marching racists while excluding them from his ‘fine people; category,” Adams wrote in his blog.

Even CNN admitted that the accusation was false.

Young and Trump clicked after they started dating, even though Young admitted that Trump actually wasn’t her type. She also praised his sense of humor and personality.

After about a two-year relationship, the couple went their separate ways with no drama or animosity. Young later married a billionaire shipping magnate.

She congratulated him after Election 2016, but that’s the last time they have spoken. Young acknowledged that Trump will probably seek the White House in 2024, but she doesn’t think he should run.

In no uncertain terms, Trump has blasted the liberal New York Times reporter’s “fake” book as “pure fiction.”

Trump did not respond to Inside Edition’s request for comment.
