The Democrat-led hellscape of Los Angeles, California continues to swallow up its own citizens by – among many failed policies – leaving the mentally ill on the streets where they can prey on the innocent who must fend for themselves.
A Palmdale mother and wife has had her life completely upended after Ken Evans, 54, and their 22-year-old daughter McKenna were both stabbed to death in a Kohl’s parking lot … in broad daylight.
Elizabeth Evans told KTLA 5, “I am just absolutely destroyed.”
“[McKenna] wasn’t just my daughter, she was my best friend,” she added.

“McKenna never took a bad picture, no matter what face she was making,” she told the Los Angeles Times. “She was just full of joy, and she cared for both people and animals.”
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to an incident “regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call” at around 11:52 AM on Oct. 27.
“Investigators learned all parties involved were parked in the parking lot of the location and appeared to live in their vehicles. The suspect had asked the male adult victim for assistance regarding his vehicle, during which an argument ensued,” the department said. “The argument led to a physical fight and ultimately the stabbing of both victims.”
McKenna Evans was pronounced dead at the scene and Ken Evans succumbed to his injuries sometime later at an area hospital.
An unnamed suspect who detectives say was living out of his car has been arrested as of Monday although no weapon has been recovered.
In a Facebook post believed to be from McKenna Evans, she wrote in the days before the attack, “Hey guys, a lot of things are going on right now, things that are leaving me stressed and scared, and I could really use some prayers,” adding that “My family still needs to find a home but our case worker hasn’t been much help.”
Speaking with KTLA 5, Elizabeth Evans said of her daughter, “She was an absolute beacon. She didn’t know a stranger. Everybody became her best friend.”
“He loved playing pool, he loved mountain biking, he loved spending time with his daughter,” she described her husband Ken.
Evans witnessed the police arresting the man suspected of killing her husband and daughter and recalled that he smirked.
“When he was in handcuffs, he smirked,” she said. “He had a smirk on his face. How dare he? I hope he never gets out of prison.”
A woman who chose to remain anonymous witnessed the seemingly random murderous assault.
She told the news outlet she saw McKenna running around the parking lot and screaming when the attacker stabbed her “in the back, on the side of her ribs and in her stomach.”
“He walked away from it, came back and started stabbing her again.”
“Then walked away again. Came back. Kicked her, stabbed her two times in the abdomen and walked away,” she recalled.
The father, she said, “got stabbed a couple of times, and then he was trying to get back into his vehicle where he continued to stab him.”
McKenna’s boyfriend was clearly distraught as he spoke to the news channel.
‘The first time I met her was at work,” said Jesse. ‘The moment she presented herself was the day I fell in love with her.”
He told ABC 7, “All I want from this is just one more time. Just one more time. Can’t I just hold her one more time? And say my goodbyes and that’s it. Tell her I love her. I’ll always love her.”
