MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell lays it on THICK for Fetterman, compares him to Winston Churchill

It’s all hands on deck to save Democrat Pennsylvania Senate hopeful John Fetterman from himself after his historic implosion during Tuesday’s debate with his GOP rival Dr. Mehmet Oz and the party’s propagandists are frantically trying to put Humpty Dumpty back together again to mitigate the damage.

Fetterman’s performance was a nightmare scenario for the party and the corrupt, partisan media is pulling out all stops to spin the debacle with the narrative now being pushed that the hulking lieutenant governor’s inability to form coherent thoughts and sentences despite having a closed captioning system provided to him was a heroic effort due to his being a stroke survivor, a triumph over his disability comparable to some of western civilization’s most towering historic figures.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell likened Fetterman to British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, laying it on thick with the sort of WWII rhetoric that makes gullible leftists with little real knowledge of history swoon.

The temperamental O’Donnell started off by reading a quote attributed to Churchill from a 522-page biography focusing on his physical illnesses to make his ludicrous assertion that Fetterman’s obvious limitations are irrelevant as well as his purely asinine insinuation that the Democrat deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the man who stared down Adolf Hitler.

The host then shoveled his malarkey over the opening several minutes of his monologue in the segment titled “painful to watch” to elicit sympathy for the lumbering former mayor of Braddock, Pa., invoking FDR as another example of an iconic 20th Century figure who overcame his own disability to lead the nation through the darkness of the Great Depression and WW II era.

O’Donnell would later go on to invoke two prominent U.S. politicians who had health problems, former vice president Dick Cheney and avowed socialist Bernie Sanders, both beloved by the MSNBC audience and neither ever as mentally incapacitated as Fetterman.

There’s a good reason for the relentless effort that has been put forth to convince voters to ignore their own lying eyes and ears and let the party do their thinking for them because even with the moderators being obviously in the bag for the Democrat, the debate was an unmitigated catastrophe for a candidate who is already reeling and on the ropes after sprinting to a huge lead before voters got a good look at him.

Fetterman’s handlers even cleaned him up from his usual dumpy appearance, swapping out the stoner dude shorts and grungy hoodie for a suit and tie but it was futile as the celebrity surgeon Oz sliced and diced him throughout the debate which, as O’Donnell put it, was “painful to watch.”

GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida had a slightly different take on Fetterman and Sir. Winston.

Fetterman’s ugly debate makes the job of pushing him across the finish line all the more difficult now that Pennsylvanians have seen their potential future senator in action. In addition to the media, he will have the help of Barack Obama, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris who will all campaign on his behalf before decision day.
