The New York Post was hacked Thursday morning, and the person or people behind it managed to get some horrifying headlines published on social media before it was caught.
While the Post managed to get most if not all of the hacked content off its Twitter page, the internet is forever and that means people got screengrabs. We are unable to repeat many of the things posted, but those who are curious can see screenshots below:

According to Alec Sears, who runs social media and digital strategy for the Republican Party, the hack occurred when someone gained access to the New York Post website’s backend and began altering headlines and publishing them through the company’s social media feeds.
Whether this was a disgruntled employee or a hack, this is a perfect example of why News Outlets (and other orgs) should not automate their social media posts

Given the currently unknown identity of the hacker, social media has begun to speculate based on the content of the junk headlines. According to them, all signs point left:
The first time anyone on the left actually made some quality memes 😂

It seems this was done by a leftist, and ironically it gives us all a glimpse of how they really think.

Not exactly subtle. Look for more efforts to sabotage Twitter. Piss poor attempts at humor will help ID them as far lefties.

Regardless of who is behind this, one thing is certain:
The headlines are so horrific! Hackers need to be hacked!
