Marshawn Lynch drops ‘mother’ of F-bombs during ESPN interview… and then drops ‘sh*t’ to clean up

Former NFL star Marshawn Lynch has never been a man who shies away from speaking what’s on his mind with his words often generously peppered with profanity and on Saturday night, he dropped the mother of all F-bombs during a live broadcast of a college football game, referring to fans in the stands as “these motherf**kers.”

Lynch was in attendance for the contest between his alma mater, the California Golden Bears and the visiting Washington Huskies when he was brought on air during the broadcast of the “Pac-12 After Dark” game that was being broadcast on ESPN.

The dreadlocked Lynch was delivering his commentary on another Golden Bears great, running back Justin Forsett and their time in the Bay Area when he slipped up.

“I’m from the Bay Area but when I look around in the stands and I see that these motherf**kers…oop..” he said as he realized what had just escaped his lips, “I mean, these stands, how they were when we were here, that sh*t kind of got me,” uttering more profanity when trying to clean up his mess.

Lynch’s F-bomb ironically came while he was recalling how he never heard Forsett swear.

“What I remember, that he never said a cuss word,” he said. “I mean he never said a cuss word, until this day I still don’t think I ever heard him say one.”

Since the exchange took place in the second quarter of a close game when viewership would have been at a high, it drew plenty of attention on Twitter.

A local hero from nearby Oakland, Lynch starred for the Golden Bears during his collegiate career at U Cal. where he still holds the school record for 100-yard rushing games before he skipped his senior year to enter the NFL draft where he was taken with the 12th overall pick in the first round by the Buffalo Bills in 2007.

For all of Lynch’s college heroics, it was his taking the injury cart for a spin on the field in 2006 that many people remember him for.

Lynch would go on to have mixed success in Buffalo until he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks where he would go on to flourish, with his bruising “Beast Mode” running style serving as a perfect complement to the team’s “Legion of Boom” defense that won a Super Bowl by crushing Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos and nearly another against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, a devastating loss that could have turned out differently had head coach Pete Carroll just given Lynch the ball in the waning seconds on the one-yard line instead of calling a passing play that resulted in a Russell Wilson interception.

After he left Seattle, Lynch returned to his hometown where he played for the Oakland Raiders, drawing the ire of former President Donald J. Trump for his protest of the Star-Spangled Banner during a game in Mexico where he stood for that country’s national anthem.

“Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect! Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down,” Trump wrote on Twitter back before he was deplatformed by all major social media companies.

Lynch responded to Trump with his preferred pejorative.

“That motherf**ker says a lot of sh*t,” he said during an appearance on Bill Maher’s HBO show. “You call me unpatriotic, but you come to my neighborhood where I’m from and you’ll see me take my shirt off my back and give it to someone in need. What would you call that?”

The Golden Bears went on to lose the game by a score of 28-21 as the Huskies rode the hot arm of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. whose two fourth quarter touchdown passes were the deciding factor, dropping California to 3-4 on the season.
