Party loyalists rushed to defend President Joe Biden after his latest mental misfire when he called on a dead member of Congress during a White House event and the ladies at “The View” dismissed the latest sign that the man with the nuclear launch code may be senile as insignificant.
On Wednesday, the flailing president scanned the room looking for Rep. Jackie Walorski of Indiana who had been a co-sponsor of the bill to fund a conference on hunger, nutrition and health.
“Where’s Jackie?” Biden asked, forgetting that the Indiana Republican was killed in a car accident last month, a gaffe that would have led to calls for invoking the 25th Amendment if it was committed by former President Donald J. Trump.
On Thursday’s edition of the popular ABC daytime gabfest, the squawking harpies resorted to whataboutism while dismissing Biden’s stumble as being merely a “brain fart” and were more concerned with those on the “right wing” were inclined to ask serious questions about Biden’s condition.

“You know, my gosh come on! You can’t go after him for not giving aid to Florida or not tackling the infrastructure and he’s giving aid to Ukraine,” whined co-host Whoopi Goldberg. “So you can’t go after him for that, but you can go after him for forgetting that someone has passed! I mean, she passed last month not, like, a hundred years ago! Okay?”
“Well remember Trump thought Frederick Douglass was still alive,” said Joy Behar, falling back on Trump and whataboutism.
“That’s what I’m talking about,” agreed Goldberg.
Sara Haines jumped in, “Well, we all have – like when you’re thinking about when you grow up you use the term brain fart. Which I hate the word fart but like you say ‘I had a brain fart.’”
“But then also you also have, like, they say, ‘Oh, I have mommy brain.’ Like, we have different words. We call it different things at different stages in our lives. But I don’t know a human that hasn’t sat in a room and has gone to say something and then been like, ‘oh my gosh.’ And I think that was very apparent what this gaffe was, “Haines added.
She also took a swipe at White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who was put on the spot by reporters over her boss’s slip-up.

“I think her explanation made it worse though because in that moment, I probably would have just said, “Okay, guys. He had a moment. Who in this room hasn’t?” And then just move on. The fact she kept kind of repeating the same words…,” Haines added.
“Well, she couldn’t really move on so easily since the right-wing has weaponized his gaffes!” Behar exclaimed.
“But those are not right-wing reporters. In the past,” Haines pointed out, noting that criticism of Biden’s “Where’s Jackie?” moment wasn’t confined to conservative media.
“Yeah. I mean, they have weaponized the gaffes, They’ve said that he’s senile,” Behar responded.
Co-host Sunny Hostin took the conversation back to hating on America.
“I think what it really shows is that this country is so ageist. This country has a problem with age. You know, you go to other countries and our elders are revered,” she said. “They’re revered because of the knowledge that they have acquired and this is a man who has worked in government his entire life. This is a man who probably had a relationship with this woman.”
Despite the spin by devout Democratic Party mouthpieces and operatives that it was nothing, Biden’s gaffe comes at a time of heightened danger of World War III after the sabotage of two critical Russian gas pipelines this week. And there should be serious concern given the grave nature of this moment in history.
