MSNBC’s Joy Reid hits DeSantis over Hurricane Ian before storm even hits: He’s too busy ‘owning libs’

MSNBC’s Joy Reid – who somehow still has a television show – did her level best to go after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis yet again; this time for allegedly opting to spend his time “owning the libs” instead of preparing his state for the landfall of Hurricane Ian.

“Florida prepares for a monster storm, with landfall expected tomorrow. Governor Ron DeSantis is going to be put to the test, forced to actually do his job, when he’s used to spending most of his time hanging out on Fox News and owning the libs,” Reid claimed in the opening preview of Tuesday’s “The ReidOut.”

Reid then laughably compared the job performance of President Joe Biden to the Florida governor.

“While Biden has been grinding out the sometimes thankless job of governing, Republicans have been waging these giddy little culture wars to own the libs,” Reid claimed.

Ever the consummate professional journalist, she had to get a non-sequitur jab in on Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin as well. According to Reid, Youngkin “has drawn massive protests and walk-outs by high school students over his use of his executive power to force schools to out transgender students’ birth sexes against their will.”

Turning her attention back to DeSantis, Reid went on another of her customary unhinged rants.

“In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis has spent the majority of his term waging wars against Disney while openly running for president on the side, sticking Florida taxpayers with a $2 trillion tax bill in the process while also attacking books and history and masks and Venezuelan migrants who aren’t even in his state, flying them from Texas at exorbitant rates to Massachusetts,” she said.

“Again, at Florida taxpayer expense. Maybe even breaking the law in the process. And let’s just be clear, he is doing this as his audition to have Joe Biden’s job. But is that what voters really hire an executive for? While DeSantis is fighting with Mickey and scoring hits on Fox News, Florida teachers are fleeing his state,” Reid claimed.

And naturally, Reid argued that “climate change is ravaging the coast” and falsely blamed DeSantis for the alleged troubles in Florida’s home insurance market which she said are “leaving thousands of Floridians in danger of having no coverage for their homes when natural disasters like hurricane Ian strike.”

“And that last bit is important. Because preparing for and dealing with hurricanes is kind of what Florida governors do. And making sure that people have insurance, well it is kind of key,” she declared.

Unless the moronic Reid thinks it’s the job of a Florida governor to round up lawbreakers with his bare hands, a minute of research would have told her that hurricane insurance is required by law for anyone carrying a mortgage on a house or a condo; to include landlords.
