Florida Governor Ron DeSantis struck a raw nerve with Democrats when he one-upped his fellow Republican governor, Greg Abbott of Texas, by delivering fifty illegal immigrants directly to the doorsteps of the haughty, privileged white snobs who comprise the party’s donor class and who live large in Martha’s Vineyard, quite possibly the most diversity-adverse area in the United States.
The hysterical reaction shows that the Sunshine State Republican may have just revealed the playbook for other red state leaders who are seeking to draw attention to the ruinous effects of the Biden regime’s open borders policy. And White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s remarks at Friday’s daily press briefing are yet another indication of how the bold move has rattled the high-rollers and their bought and paid-for politicians.
Jean-Pierre invoked the dreaded c-word that many have used to describe today’s fully-radicalized Democratic Party, the self-proclaimed historic first black, lesbian immigrant to hold the job decried DeSantis and Abbott for their unconscionable treatment of “folks who are fleeing communism” by sending them to deep blue areas where local leaders have championed the welcoming of illegal aliens with open arms.

“Yesterday, two Republican governors reportedly lured 100 asylum-seekers, including children, onto planes and busses with false promises, and then abandoned them on the side of a busy road thousands of miles away with nothing, with nothing but Ziploc bags of their belongings in hand,” she said, laying it on thick for gullible reporters. “These were children. They were moms. They were fleeing communism.”
“And what did Governor DeSantis and Governor Abbott do to them? They used them as political pawns. Treated them like chattel in a cruel, premeditated political stunt,” she added, reading from her script. “Why else would Governor DeSantis have spent the time to charter a flight to take migrants out of a different state, not even his state, a different state, and hire a videographer to capture footage of that flight, but not bother to let Massachusetts authorities know that migrant children in need of food and shelter were about to land on their doorstep.”
“These vulnerable migrants were reportedly misled about where they were headed, told they would be headed to Boston, misled about what they would be provided when they arrived, promised shelter, refuge, benefits, and more,” KJP said. “These are the kinds of tactics we see from smugglers in places like Mexico and Guatemala. And for what? A photo op. Because these governors care about creating political theater, than creating actual solutions to help folks who are fleeing communism, to help children, to help families. Instead, they want to do political stunts.”
Jean-Pierre rebounded after she was tripped up during Thursday’s presser, stammering a response to a question from NBC News chief White House correspondent Kristen Welker who pressed her on whether the border was secure after migrants were dropped off on Martha’s Vineyard and in front of VP Kamala Harris’ crib at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C.

Abbott has been busing migrants to deep blue cities including New York, Chicago and the nation’s capital for months but nothing has rattled the cages of Democrats and their backers like adding Martha’s Vineyard to the list of destinations. Just imagine the uproar if other posh playgrounds of the elite soon follow now that DeSantis has provided the inspiration.
