Former Immigration and Customs Enforcement Director Tom Homan roasted the White House’s response to recent moves by Republican governors to transport illegal migrants to sanctuary cities across the U.S.
Homan called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ move to transport migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, “fantastic,” on Thursday’s episode of “Fox & Friends First.”
“He must be watching Fox News because last week I said, let’s add Massachusetts to that list along with Philadelphia, Portland and Seattle,” Homan said.
Massachusetts Democrats slammed DeSantis after rallying to provide shelter, food and other necessities to the 50 migrants flown from Florida to the Dukes County enclave for the rich, Fox News reported.

Rep. Dylan Fernandes, who represents Martha’s Vineyard, Falmouth, Nantucket and Gosnold, called the move “evil and inhumane.”
Homan took umbrage with the hypocrisy, noting Democrats have long ignored the true struggles of dealing with an ongoing caravan of migrants at the southern border.
“They said it’s inhumane. It’s cruel. They’re invoking religion. Look, you know what’s inhumane, what’s cruel?” asked the former police officer who served as ICE director under Donald Trump. “It’s just open borders. And these sanctuary cities incentivize illegal immigration.”
Homan noted that 1,300 migrants have died on U.S. soil on President Joe Biden’s watch.
“We have over 100,000 Americans who have died from fentanyl overdoses because of the open border,” Homan continued. “We have 31% of women making that journey with the criminal cartels that get sexually assaulted. We got children drowning in the river. That’s inhumane. That’s cruel.”
Sanctuary cities energize illegal immigration and encourage desperate people to make the dangerous journey, Homan said.
“These sanctuary cities are part of the problem because they incentivize people to come to this country illegally, to get to their city, to be protected from ICE and other law enforcement,” he said.
“Outnumbered” host Kayleigh McEnany said Thursday that President Biden sent secret migrant transports since the start of his presidency and suffered no critique from Democrats and the duplicity of the response was very telling.
“Why is it evil and inhumane for Governor DeSantis to send migrants to Martha’s Vineyard, but not evil and humane when Biden for two years sends secret flights of migrants around the nation?” the Fox News host asked. “There’s no difference there.”

Vice President Kamala Harris called the border “secure” during an interview last week but refused to comment on the two buses that arrived outside her residence at the Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, Fox News reported.
Fox News reporter Griff Jenkins spoke with several of the more than 100 migrants picked up in Eagle Pass, Texas then sent via bus to D.C. by Texas Governor Greg Abbott.
McEnany was flabbergasted by the response from the migrants who traveled from Venezuela, Uruguay, Colombia, and Mexico.
“Griff Jenkins brilliantly goes in front of the vice president’s residence at the Naval Observatory,” she said. “He asks an illegal immigrant, ‘Hey, you know, is the border secure? The vice president right there over the fence in the Naval Observatory says it’s secure.’ His quote is astonishing. The illegal immigrant says ‘it’s open, not closed. Everyone believes the border is open because we enter. We are free to enter. No problem. We came illegally. We did not come legally.'”
If the situation wasn’t so dire, she’d laugh at the mockery, McEnany said.
“So, this is the making of SNL skits, except it’s not funny at all,” she said. “But to have an illegal migrant who just crossed the southern border standing in front of the vice president’s home, who just said the border was secure, as he says, ‘No, it’s not. Hey, I’m here to tell the story.’ These are the things SNL comes up with. … This has exposed hypocrisy at an untold level, this shipping across the country of illegal immigrants to these liberal jurisdictions.”
