‘Car Guy’ Joe Biden confused again. That’s not an electric car!

President Joe Biden and the climate zealots that his administration is overflowing with are putting the pedal to the metal when it comes to pushing Americans into an uncertain future of costly electric vehicles that few want and that the nation’s infrastructure is ill-equipped to support, and the self-professed “car guy” touted the progress of the forced conversion at a big Detroit auto show.

Biden took a trip to the Motor City on Wednesday where he hustled electric cars, climbed behind the wheel of a powerful muscle car and joked that he liked a new orange Chevrolet Corvette Z06 so much that he was going to drive it back to Washington, D.C.

“I tell you what, tell the head of my Secret Service detail I’m driving home,” Biden said as he fired up the engine. “Want to come with me?”

“You all know I’m a car guy,” Biden told an enthusiastic crowd, adding that cars “just give me a sense of optimism — although I like the speed too.”

At the show, the nation’s 46th president announced the approval of the first $900 million in infrastructure money to build EV chargers across the national highway system and Puerto Rico to speed the extinction of gas-powered vehicles.

“Under my economic plan, the great American road trip will be fully electrified,” promised Biden.

While Democrats and the political left slobbered all over Biden on social media, not everyone was as enthusiastic, including Fox News anchor Jesse Watters who likened the POTUS to a “sleazy salesman” who “won’t stop trying to sell you something you don’t want,” on Wednesday’s edition of “Jesse Watters Primetime,” ridiculing the regime’s squandering of money on the great green dream.

“So he says the great American road trip is gonna go completely electric,” he said after playing clips of Biden’s Detroit speech. “And he’s the one who’s gonna do it – with your money.”

“Is this the dumbest thing you’ve ever heard?” Watters asked. “Biden doesn’t even believe in what he’s selling, Ford executives couldn’t even get the president out of the Chevy today,” rolling a clip of Biden in the orange Corvette which wasn’t even an electric vehicle.

Others also noticed that a tweet from the “car guy” wasn’t consistent with reality.

“You all know I’m a car guy,” Biden wrote on Twitter. “Today I visited the Detroit Auto Show and saw firsthand the electric vehicles that give me so many reasons to be optimistic about our future.”

“American manufacturing is back,” Biden proclaimed. “Detroit is back. America is back. And, folks, we’re proving it’s never, ever, ever a good bet to bet against the American people. Never, never, never.”

“We just got to remember who we are. We are the United States of America,” he said to applause. “We are the United States of America. And there literally — I mean this sincerely — there’s not a damn thing we can’t do — nothing, nothing, nothing — if we do it together.”
