Greg Gutfeld and the crew at “The Five” had a good laugh over the media’s fawning reaction to the grand return of Barack and Michelle Obama to the White House for the unveiling of their official portraits, with the Fox News host delivering a wicked jab about the former president’s murky background.

On Thursday’s edition of the popular panel show, the topic turned to the Democratic Party superstars being honored during a ceremony in which Obama laid it on thick by proclaiming that it was “America’s good fortune” to have Biden as the nation’s leader. But even more gut-wrenching was the media worship of its heroes.
“Former President Obama is back and hitting the campaign trail to help Democrats rake in the cash before the midterms,” Gutfeld began. “It comes just a day after Obama made his heroic return to the White House to unveil his official White House portrait, the liberal media gushing like little schoolchildren over that.”
Gutfeld then rolled video clips to prove his point as talking heads could barely contain their enjoyment of the “historic day” and “particularly poignant” moment for the “first black president and first lady who will live on these walls for history.”

“Look at that portrait Jessica,” Gutfeld said to Tarlov, “Can we can we see that portrait again of former President Obama?
“I find this striking, Jessica, can we see it there, did you notice what’s missing?” Gutfeld asked. “His background.”
The panel busted up laughing over the sly dig at aspects of Obama’s nebulous past before he burst out of obscurity with his keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention and ended up in the White House just over four years later.
When the laughter subsided, Tarlov said, “I get it, he’s Kenyan, whatever,” causing the panel to crack up anew.
“He made me say it,” she added. “Just whatever, requisite, liberal, fangirling, I was really so pleased to see them back in the White House yesterday. It was…,” as her cohosts chuckled.
“You can laugh about it but he means a lot to the party, the portraits were gorgeous, and they were funny and sweet and Michelle was the one who conveyed the heavier message and all of it about, you know, the threats that we’re facing today and um, you could have put me in the montage,” gushed Tarlov.
“There you go,” Gutfeld said. “We should have. It looks to me like they’re your royalty.”
Tarlov responded, “I like the queen. I led with, I, the queen is special, Barack Obama is special.”
“You would like king Obama wouldn’t you?” Gutfeld asked. “You’d like him to be your king.”
While questions about Obama’s birth certificate that were asked by many including former President Donald J. Trump have been largely put to rest, there is also the matter of Obama’s college records, especially his time at Columbia University that has never been adequately addressed in the eyes of some critics who believe that the nation’s 44th president’s official story of his past doesn’t pass the smell test.
