Biden’s appointed operative to dole out $370 billion in sweeping new climate funds has heads spinning

Now that the crown jewel of the Democrat agenda, the Orwellian-named Inflation Reduction Act is the law of the land, the Biden regime has brought in a longtime Democratic Party operative to oversee the disbursement of funds for the sweeping climate programs that were crammed through the Senate with zero Republican support.

On Friday, the White House announced that John Podesta will serve as Senior Advisor to the President for Clean Energy Innovation and Implementation, a gig that puts him in charge of the $370 billion that will be doled out for clean energy projects as well as government giveaways for those who wish to install solar panels and heat pumps or purchase expensive electric vehicles.

In addition to bringing Podesta on board, Obama administration veteran Ali Zaidi has been promoted to Assistant to the President and National Climate Advisor, replacing Gina McCarthy who will be stepping down this month.

“We are fortunate that John Podesta will lead our continued innovation and implementation. His deep roots in climate and clean energy policy and his experience at senior levels of government mean we can truly hit the ground running to take advantage of the massive clean energy opportunity in front of us,” President Biden said in a White House statement announcing the shake-up.

Podesta brings an extensive resume to the White House, making Biden the third Democrat president that he has served under with his highest position being Bill Clinton’s chief of staff; he also was an advisor to Barack Obama and founded the influential leftist think tank the Center for American Progress.

He was also the campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s doomed 2016 presidential campaign, one that he ironically may have inadvertently assisted in sinking when his lack of caution in the safeguarding of his Gmail account led to a massive cache of emails with deeply embarrassing details to fall into the hands of Wikileaks which published them in drip…drip…drip.. fashion for weeks before the election.

Twitter reacted to Podesta’s new position which is essentially putting the fox in charge of the hen house.

Podesta said that his new gig was “throwing the weight of federal government policy behind a cycle of investment and innovation that we haven’t seen before in the United States, and that is almost unique in the world,” according to The New York Times which also quoted the 73-year-old political operative as saying that the job “was worth coming out of retirement for.”

“The transformation of the energy economy is going to be the biggest thing economically that is happening in this country,” added Podesta. “If people are going to feel this in their daily lives, it’s going to be because they’ve got a good job, they’re paying less for energy, they’re breathing cleaner air and their children have a future that is not blighted by the threat of climate change.”

The White House also touted Ali Zaidi’s credentials in its big announcement.

“Zaidi is a longtime advisor to President Biden, having provided counsel and leadership on climate policy development, legislation, and executive action from day one of the Administration and on the Biden presidential transition and campaign. Zaidi served in leadership roles for climate change and energy during the Obama-Biden Administration and as New York’s Chairman of Climate Policy and Finance and Deputy Secretary for Energy and Environment, where he led the state’s efforts on climate change and clean energy,” the press release read.

With Podesta’s appointment, the Clintons are now in the building.
