Rep. Jayapal gets round-the-clock security after voting against SCOTUS getting the same

U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) was the beneficiary of round-the-clock security after a man was arrested and charged with felony stalking outside the congresswoman’s Seattle home, yet she previously voted against SCOTUS justices receiving the same sort of security at their private residences.

Brett Forsell, 49, was arrested on July 9 for allegedly threatening to kill Jayapal as he drove past her house multiple times and reportedly hurled obscenities at the lawmaker. Jayapal then reported the incident to Capitol Police rather than the Seattle Police Department, after which she was granted private security by a third-party outfit, according to the Jason Rantz show.

Jayapal told Rantz the security detail was in place for only three weeks and explained, “Largely because he [Forsell] lives six blocks from me, so the threat assessment level is high based on his weapon and location,” Jayapal explained. “It may continue depending on ongoing threat assessment.”

Rantz provided a short video of the arrest to Fox News Digital.

In June, Jayapal joined several other Democrats who voted against the protection of Supreme Court justices amid an onslaught of mob protesters unhappy with the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Naturally, only certain justices were targeted, with one instance culminating in charges of attempted murder after a man arrived at Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s home with weapons and other burglary gear. That story was memory-holed as one might expect, for if it had been an attempt on the life of one of the liberal justices, it would still be a top story every night on leftist-run media.

The Supreme Court Police Parity Act of 2022 granted the Marshal of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court Police did thankfully pass by a vote of 396-27 in the House and unanimously in the Senate. What the logic was behind the nay vote of those 27 representatives is plain to see: it would protect conservative justices as well as liberals and that must be stopped.

Jayapal has in the past referred to the high court as “extremist” and “radical” which is the same tired projectionism you can expect from the Left.

“This extremist Supreme Court is a direct threat to me, my loved ones, and to millions of people all across this country,” Jayapal wrote on Twitter on July 15. “We need balance now. Expand the Court.”
