As potential 2024 alternatives to her nemesis Donald Trump, Liz Cheney claims that U.S. Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz are “unfit” to run for president because they objected to the Electoral College certification of the 2020 election.
The self-appointed protector of the U.S. Constitution forgot or overlooked something significant, however, about her new best friends on the partisan January 6 committee. It might be described as an “inconvenient truth.”
As part of a cringe interview with Jonathan Karl on ABC News’ “This Week,” the perpetually dour landslide loser of the August 16 Wyoming Republican primary dissed the two GOP lawmakers because they “know exactly what the role of Congress is in terms of our constitutional obligations with respect to presidential elections, and yet, both of whom took steps that fundamentally threatened the constitutional order and structure in the aftermath of the last election. So in my view, they both have made themselves unfit for future office.”
As things turned out, the Wyoming electorate sent a strong message that U.S. Rep. Cheney is unfit for her current office or reelection to that office by voting overwhelmingly for Trump-endorsed Harriet Hageman.
Moreover, as conservative influencer Stephen L. Miller recalled, Democrats are no strangers to “threatening the constitutional order” that Cheney claims she cares so much about.
“Two of the ranking Democrats on the January 6th Committee, including her co-chair, objected to certify presidential electors. Raskin in 2016 and Thompson in 2005. I guess that one slipped past Jon Karl also,” he quipped on Twitter.

This does not even include the massive effort enabled by the Deep State and the political establishment to discredit the 2016 outcome altogether.
Apart from a job on MSNBC, CNN, or “The View,” Cheney is likely to be discarded by the Democrats and their media allies, many of whom previously denounced her dad Dick Cheney as a war criminal, as soon as they determine that she is no longer useful.
The neocon has hinted at a presidential run in the future, which is hardly likely to gain any traction either within the GOP or on an independent ticket.
Spoiler alert: The self-righteous Cheney, who allowed herself to become a Pelosi pawn because of her anti-Trump obsession, is not a fan of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis either because he is supporting so-called election deniers, the latter cohort that Cheney has vowed to campaign against as part of a new political organization.
Karl did not ask Cheney, who claimed in the same interview that she supports traditional GOP values — which sounds a lot like those “principled conservatives” who became indistinguishable from liberals in the Trump era — if that meant that she would actually back a left-wing Democrat over a conservative Republican who has alleged 2020 election fraud and ways to remedy future irregularities.

Miller and other Twitter sleuths provided further commentary on Cheney’s historical hypocrisy:
Thompson refused to certify Ohio under the excuse of voter fraud and suspected malfunction or manipulation of voting machines. Barbara Boxer also objected to Ohio certification, with Hillary Clinton’s support.

True conservatism is supporting Democrats.

In a world with a whiff of media integrity, the person who beat a politically entrenched family like the Cheneys, in a primary, in a state the size of Wyoming, would be fêted all over the media, not the hapless loser.

Liz is just butt-hurt and bitter.

Really missing the point here. MSNBC is going to give her LeBron level money.

Threatened the constitutional order by pursuing constitutional remedies presented in the Electoral count act of 1887. Sure thing lizzy. Don’t go away mad. Just go away. LOL! https://t.co/G24FpvH59l

A real journo would have showed her a video of that and asked for her comment. But I digress….ABC has no such journo’s.
