Rep. Liz Cheney’s date with destiny is now only days away as voters get set to go to the polls in a referendum on the embattled leader of J6 committee’s show trial of former President Donald J. Trump and she just picked up a big endorsement although it will probably do little to sway Wyoming Republicans.
Former Democrat senator Al Franken who was run out of Congress at the height of the #MeToo hysteria over allegations of inappropriate sexual overtures to multiple women went on record as being a big supporter of the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, taking to Twitter to stump for her in the primary where she is expected to be shellacked by her Trump-endorsed opponent.
“I’ve decided to endorse @RepLizCheney for the Republican nomination for the House seat In Wyoming it’s my first time endorsing in a GOP primary. But I think Al Franken’s support will carry a lot of weight with WY Republicans,” Franken wrote.

The former “Saturday Night Live” comic who played loopy self-help guru on the long-running NBC late-night flagship drew quite a response from Twitter users for attempting to ride to Cheney’s rescue with his late endorsement of a woman who despite her gold-plated name has transformed herself into a toxic figure with Wyoming Republicans as a result of her jihad against Trump.
“Kinda says it all,” tweeted Texas GOP Senator Ted Cruz.

“Maybe she can hit the road with you on your comedy tour when she gets voted out, because she sure as hell isn’t getting re-elected,” responded Florida congressional candidate Lavern Spicer.

Oh yeah, the perv who resigned over sexual misconduct allegations is really going to carry a lot of weight with republicans. She already sealed her fate but go ahead and drag her down some more.

Perfect. I remember when you stole that senate election from Norm Coleman when you “found” thousands of ballots in the trunk of a car. https://t.co/9vSOsQsGom

Polls are showing that Cheney is trailing badly in her match against attorney Harriet Hageman and one notable Republican who “reveres” the Cheneys spoke of the futility of the fight that she picked with Trump.
“I do think it’s debatable whether she should have gone out and blown herself up this way, because it’s obviously going to cost her her seat and her platform, but she chose a different path. And I think everybody’s got to make their own decisions in life,” GOP strategist Scott Jennings, a former special assistant to President George W. Bush said.
Whether a last-minute push by Democrats will allow Cheney to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat remains to be seen but it is now clear that her appeal is limited to regular viewers of the Sunday morning gabfests, denizens of the D.C. swamp, hardened Resistance Trump haters and left-wingers like Al Franken.
